He was a public relations executive with the former Mobil Oil Corp. In 1982 he joined the Scottsdale Progress as arts and entertainment editor and, in 1986, he launched his own public-relations company. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marti; his son, Douglass; three sons and a daughter by his former wife, two grandsons, and two granddaughters.
