Every second Thursday of the month is one of the most exciting nights in New Bedford. It’s when AHA!, New Bedford’s free Downtown Cultural Night and collaborative organization, joins hands with museums, galleries, boutiques and restaurants for the city’s monthly free, family-friendly arts and culture celebration. Participating venues host art exhibitions, live music, theater skits, educational lectures, and more, all in the name of a special, changing theme highlighting a cultural aspect of the city. This summer, Thursday, July 10 is centered on the theme “Kids Rule,” and Thursday, August 14 is “A Midsummer’s Night Eve.” Home to one of the largest concentrations of artists for its size, quaint and coastal New Bedford is filled with galleries, museums and theaters producing first-rate art works, exhibitions and performances.
