Viaggio nel tempo al Singapore Botanic Gardens L’Evolution Garden si trova all’interno del noto parco pubblico cittadino Singapore Botanic Gardens. Esteso su una superficie di quasi dieci ettari, ci racconta, attraverso la vegetazione, l’incredibile storia del mondo, e di come le piante hanno incominciato a evolversi e trasformarsi attraverso i millenni fino ad assumere la forma di quelle attuali. Un’attrazione pubblica senz’altro di grande impatto scenografico, ma innanzitutto contraddistinta dall’obbiettivo di educare il visitatore attraverso un viaggio a ritroso nel tempo -viaggio che spesso viene mostrato solo nei film giurassici hollywoodiani.
La progettazione sia botanica che scenografica di tutto il giardino è davvero strabiliante e molto equilibrata, infatti si è cercato di far convivere enormi sculture artificiali di alberi scomparsi con le piante vere e proprie. Queste ultime sono il frutto di una ricerca complessa, grazie alla quale è stato selezionato un vasto numero di esemplari viventi appartenenti ai diversi gruppi di piante considerate primitive, come conifere e cicadi. All’ingresso dell’Evolution Garden ci attendono enormi colonne in pietra, che raffigurano gli alberi pietrificati dal tempo,
Evolution Garden is located within the well-known public park, Singapore Botanic Gardens. Over an area of almost ten acres, the park tells us the incredible story of the world through its vegetation and how plants started to evolve and change through millennia until they became like the present ones. Undoubtedly a public attraction of great visual impact, but first of all it is characterized by the objective to educate visitors on a journey back in time – a journey often shown only in Jurassic Hollywood movies. The design is spectacular
throughout the botanical garden and is really amazing and very balanced, bringing together huge sculptures of disappeared artificial trees with real plants. This is the result of a complex search, thanks to a selection of a large number of live specimens belonging to different groups of plants considered primitives, such as conifers and cycads. At the entrance to the Evolution Garden there are huge stone columns, depicting trees petrified by time.
