The taboo is through. That’s the growing feeling among plastic surgeons and other practitioners who are seeing huge increases in the number of male patients getting aesthetic treatments. “Breast augmentation for women has been around since the ’50s,” says Dr. Fahran Malik, medical director at Atlanta Innovative Medicine, noting how the procedure is so commonplace these days that no one bats an eye. While men getting penile enhancement isn’t at that stage yet, it is becoming increasingly more acceptable. A double board-certified specialist in nonsurgical cosmetic penile enlargement, Dr. Malik reports that while still only a fraction of the men who have concerns about the size of their penis act on it, their business has gone up due, in part, he says, to social pressure. Dr. Malik is uniquely qualified to administer the exclusive technique, which involves millimeter injections into the penis of FDA-approved proprietary agents, similar to that of fillers like Sculptra. The agents are then absorbed by the penis, and after about a month, it turns into collagen, which is what creates the additional girth. The whole visit only takes about two hours, and patients can lie comfortably watching Netflix throughout.

“After a breast augmentation, women feel more feminine, while after penile enlargement, men feel more masculine and virile,” says Dr. Malik. “And when they’re more sexually confident, it carries over into their lives in other ways.”
