Lin Dewsnap started her artistic journey on an Oxfordshire Adult Learning art course with tutor Tatiana Wise. Lin’s professional background was working as a psychiatric nurse and as a social worker, but after enjoying her art course at the College, Lin decided to pursue a career as an artist:

“I was inspired to embark on a career as an independent artist after the encouragement I received in my classes with Tatiana. After attending a part-time course, I pursued an Access Course in Art and Design, before going onto a Degree in the Fine Arts, and I have just recently completed a Masters in Fine Art! It’s all thanks to Tatiana for seeing my potential and giving me the skills and confidence to finally achieve academic and practical excellence in Fine Art.”

“Pottery really helps me relax; I find it mindful, and it’s been great for my mental health and my resilience! I’m now teaching pottery at the school I work at, and I have become the Art Lead because I do pottery!”

Aileen, Pottery

“I hadn’t done any drawing or painting since I was at school, so my expectations were low! But with tuition, time and patience I surprised myself.”
