om Macy got his start as many do, behind a bar. He started as a barback in 2009 at the Clover Club Cocktail Bar in Brooklyn, the same year the establishment won American Bar of the Year at Tales of the Cocktail. He learned from some of the best, and quickly earned a spot making drinks and honing his craft. As time progressed he worked his way up to becoming a partner in Clover Club alongside owner and bartending legend Julie Reiner, who also partnered with Macy on his next dream, a canned cocktail project years in the making. “We're a social society and alcohol has kind of been there from the very beginning, and I think that there's something special about that.” Macy said. His family always placed a great value around cocktail hour, or as they called it: social hour. As, if not more, important than the drinks themselves are the times and conversations you have with them, and Macy carries that philosophy into everything he does.
