ools of all shapes, sizes and types have become a popular and welcome addition to many homes over the last few years, but there’s a number of reasons why a larger swimming pool isn’t always a possibility or even a necessity. Perhaps there’s a restriction on space or budget. Maybe there’s aesthetic reasons why a large pool isn’t wanted or just won’t work. Whatever the reason, sometimes a small pool is the only suitable option, but whilst they can be a lot of fun, they can also just seem to lack that certain something – and often, it’s the ability to enjoy a proper, uninterrupted swim – a fact, which sadly, is rather ironic. Thankfully, the answer to this problem for a number of pools and their owners is a counter-current system, and they’re use and incorporation into pools of a smaller nature, is quickly gaining traction with both the trade and consumers. Of course, their use isn’t restricted to size, but pools with a small footprint is clearly where they are best utilised and they really come into their own with the addition of one of these units. Once installed, a counter-current system makes it possible to swim for as long as a user likes, plus their introduction often provides some additional hydrotherapy options along with some wow factor to impress the kids and guests alike! With discrete built-in along with over-thewall options available, there are no excuses for not exercising or maximising a pool area’s full potential – especially as there is now more choice than ever within the sector.
