CONCEPT PLUS is an interior and exterior design firm with expertise in residential, commercial, hospitality, retail, healthcare and beauty projects. MALL OF ARABIA, JEDDAH KINGDOM SAUDI ARABIA MARBLE SLAB CREAMERY is situated in The Mall of Arabia in Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Our objective was to accentuate its identity and disclose it to the public eye, by reshaping its icon not only visually but also functionally - increasing MARBLE SLAB CREAMERY seating area permeability from the Indoor area to the Outdoor area. Our design efforts focused on enhancing both the Identity and the Brand potential. We created a new outdoor seating area that would merge with the already existing outlet and add to the Brand presence. The proposed Outdoor Seating Area, not only provides extra seating and privacy, but also acts as the brand’s thematic scheme and establishes a visual pause to the ambiguous aggregation of the new area which comprise the shop façade. We envisaged the Outlet façade floating above the new seating area, establishing a clear and signified entry point, inviting pedestrians inside. The new seating area has been specifically designed to allow a translucent visual connection of the outside and the- lit under the new light feature. This way, the passage between the outlet & the new seating area created to join the public and the private, the new seating with the Outlet’s internal, leads on to the atrium, with its Ice cream Shop and nearby shop, to present a fresh urban meeting spot, an oasis of light in the interior of the mall. During the Outlet›s working hours the new seating area is open, allowing the interior to act as an extension of the outside, while at closing hours the outlet itself closes. This periodical movement, which introduces different degrees of access and permeability, conceives not only an architectonic, but also an urban event of severe significance.
THE DUBAI MALL, DUBAI UNITED ARAB EMIRATES WALTERS COFFEE ROASTERY is situated in The Dubai Mall in Dubai City in United Arab Emirates. The Outlet’s is design by the principle designer & Loci Architect. The project is located in the heart of Dubai. We wanted the space to detach from the usual mall architectural and servicing stereotypes regarding the third eave coffee store. We consider the usual programmatic process experienced in such stores to be outdated and mundane something that didn’t seem to fit with the usual coffee store. We wanted the visitors to be able to explore the space with freedom as if he has arrived in a peculiar forest, sustained by the imagination and creative force of third wave coffee store concept.
INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF AFRICA DJIBOUTI, AFRICA The starting point of our Project Management for the design of the client was the analysis of the Architect view on design, their interests and inspirations, their images and passions that drive there creative force. there design projects are all different from each other as if they have been extracted from different worlds, unusual, heterotopic and mysterious. Nonetheless all there work is bounded by some persistent and recurring ideas such as the quality of light their creations emit, the kin geometrical patterns, the intricate detailing. These elements compose the heteroclite sum of ideas and experiences that are expressed in there work and all together unite in a method of work and a process of transforming memories to the final design.
