Congratulations Waimea Squash Club Waimea Squash Club is excited to celebrate its 35th anniversary in March. The vibrant club boasts a very proud history, and over the years has produced NZ champions. Nestled behind the Club Waimea complex the squash club has catered to generations of players from the local community. To celebrate the anniversary a fun tournament followed by an evening
function is scheduled for; Saturday, March 19 at Club Waimea. All past members are welcome, and encouraged to attend the function. Please contact Club Waimea for further details. As part of the celebrations, the Waimea Squash Club is also offering a special membership opportunity; Six months membership only $130 for seniors, $70 for juniors.
Business House/Social League starts again on February 19th. From the presidents desk Happy New Year to everyone I do hope your Xmas and New Year was enjoyable and you were able to do all the family things together. Welcome to our new members please do not hesitate to ask if you are not sure of anything and members please make our new members welcome. Please I ask that you all take a moment of your time to remember the loved ones of members that have passed away in 2015, as Xmas comes it is a very lonely time of remembrance however to those whom have lost a loved one we all at Club Waimea are here for you. Xmas and New Year went well for the Club, the caravan park being nearly full and patronage
was consistent with other years. As I have said before there is fierce competition in our industry and club Waimea is a business so have to be better at what we do than others to succeed. Again if any member has an idea re enhancing the club please let us know and please do not think a small idea has no meaning, some great ideas have come from small beginnings. So to all our members, sports groups and volunteers are part of the Waimea team and let’s enjoy 2016. I thank all that have made Club Waimea a success in 2015 and let us all make 2016 better. Outdoor League bowls has started again for 2016.
Bowlers representing Nelson The Outdoor League bowls has started again after the Christmas New Year break. All is going well. The Richmond Bowling Club has nearly finished all their club championships, with new champions found. The Richmond Bowling Club also has a good number of bowlers representing Nelson in the
challenge against Marlborough on the Sunday, January 24. The men play in Nelson with the ladies travelling to Blenheim. The players representing Richmond are Bruce Smith, Maurice Dodsworth, Hank Nalder, Max Nalder, Colleen Lankshear, Jeanette Pauling, Coleen Kempton, and Jean McKenzie. Good Luck to all.
