Students get down to business They may still be at school but that didn’t stop the region's Young Enterprise Scheme businesses selling and promoting their products with the ease and confidence of professionals. There were 23 businesses flaunting their wares at last Saturday's Nelson market, as part of the overall scheme, which runs throughout the year. Students came up with a business idea in term one, which was then presented to the "Dragon's Den".
Now in the third term of their of the scheme, the focus is solely on selling their products to the public. There was a huge selection of products at the market from clothing, jewellery, skin care and furniture, and the students excelled when it came to interacting with the public. The winner was Nelson College’s Vivacity and their daffodil rings that had links to the Cancer Society. Their prize was a free market stall for four weeks and $100.
