Letโ€™s make every hour Earth Hour Are you ready for another candlelight dinner this Saturday night? Millions of people around the world, including many in the Tasman Nelson region, will enjoy an hour of darkness in support of the annual symbolic event of Earth Hour. This event encourages households and businesses to turn off all non-essential lights for one hour in support of the

Check out the link below for some great ideas and to find local Earth Hour events www.wwf.org.nz/earth_hour/, or create your own. More and more people in Tasman and Nelson appreciate that anything and everything in their day to day living can

be an opportunity to reduce their ecological footprint. Saving power, reducing water consumption and waste, growing food, car pooling, caring for each other, our native animals and bush just makes affordable and social sense, rather than thinking you have to be green. Our regional environment is tied in with our lifestyles, business, technology and whatโ€™s on our plate. Working with nature and protecting our environment is something we can easily make decisions about every day. We are all a natural and necessary part of our environment. Together we can appreciate our diversity and still make the difference when it comes to protecting it. We can celebrate our environmental heroes in early childhood centres, schools, community and business who are walking their caring talk. Are you someone who regularly uses
