The ground floor is comprised of a generous central open-plan kitchen/living/dining, a second lounge and a guest suite (tucked behind the kitchen). “Complete with en suite, the guest wing is entirely separate from the rest of the house, which is often not the case,” explains Nick. “separating the guest and main bedrooms allows the house to function seamlessly and privately while guests are visiting. “Two second-level bedrooms, each with their own en suite then complement the ground floor.” For robyn and Peter, their 180m² ‘compact’ home perfectly suits their needs, having provided them with their much sought-after “lock-up and leave” city townhouse. however, with the number of grandchildren having jumped from two to nine, the need for more outdoor play area is calling and they are well underway with the design and build of their second First Light Studio home. Nick has done the plans, Jeremy is building it and Robyn is doing the interior. “The first house was such a success, we thought we would do it all over again,” laugh the couple.
