MAGNETIC STRIP CARD - DIRECT COLOR Magnetic Strip Cards, commonly called Magstripes, come in two main varieties; high-coercivity (HICO) and low-Coercivity (LOCO). HICO Magstripes are harder to erase, and therefore are used for cards that are used frequently and need to have a long life. LOCO Magstripes require a lower amount of Magnetic Energy to record. Card Reader Machine A Card Reader Machine can read both HICO and LOCO Magstripes. Card Writer Machine Most HICO Card Writer Machines can have two settings and can write both HICO & LOCO Magstripes. A LOCO Card Writer Machine can write only LOCO Cards. Be sure to order the correct card.
