24 HOUR LIGHTNING SERVICE

Orders ship 24 hours after receipt of proof approval.

Proofs will be provided within 24 hours of receipt of the purchase order and artwork (sent to our specifications - see pages 49 – 51). If the proof approval is received by 10:00 AM ET, your order will ship the following working day. ALL proofs must be signed, dated and either faxed or emailed to us without exception. It will be assumed that for any “24 hour Lightning Service” order, the job will ship overnight unless otherwise stated in writing.

CARDS WITH MAGNETIC STRIPES AND BARCODES

Magnetic striped cards are swiped.

300 oer or 600 oer are LoCo with a dark brown magnetic strip. These LoCo strips are used when the cards are not needed to last for a long time. Examples are hotel room access cards, membership cards, and gift cards. 2750 oer are HiCo cards and have a black magnetic strip. This more expensive strip is used for cards frequently used over long periods of time. Examples of HiCo cards are credit cards, drivers’ license cards, and proximity cards.

ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS

PLEASE USE THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES WHEN PREPARING DIGITAL FILES FOR BUDGETCARD:

Artwork must be to size: download product templates at www.budgetcard.com

Colors must be defined as either Pantone® or CMYK colors. Art submitted as RGB will be converted to CMYK. Converting colors from RGB to CMYK may change their appearance. Text must be at least 6 point type. Small bold and/or condensed text should be kerned out to avoid spaces filling in when printed.

Reverse Printing: We do not recommend printing logos with fine lines in reverse, as fine lines will fill in when printed. Text printed in reverse must be bold and at least 6 point type.

Clearances & Bleeds: Clearances are the minimum space required between elements of art and the finished edge of the product. We require that Ad Copy be 1/8” in from all template edges, ruler scales, holes & slots. Bleed is the distance the ink extends past the finished edge of the product before final cutting. Our Standard bleed is 1/8” (.125”). Raster files must allow for the required bleed when submitted because they are not editable like vector files.

Ruler Scales: Must bleed 1⁄8”, and the shortest increments on scales must be at least 1⁄8”. Customer agrees to a 1/32 tolerance on ruler scales. These are not precision instruments, and should be used accordingly. Inches and cm’s on front are standard. Architectural and Engineering scales available at no additional charge, but must be noted on order.

Software/File Format: Only professional design software packages may be used to produce artwork. Programs such as Microsoft Word, Publisher and Power Point are not capable of producing quality art files needed for imprinting purposes.

BUDGETCARD PREFERRED: ADOBE CREATIVE SUITE CC ®

Illustrator® (.ai) is our graphics department’s preferred layout software. Colors must be defined as either spot or CMYK. To avoid font problems, all text must be converted to curves/outlines, or font file(s) must be included/attached via email. When a clipping path is needed, create it by using pen tools and establish the fewest number of control points possible. Complex clipping paths may lead to additional art charges.

Photoshop® (.psd) We use Photoshop to edit and correct all photographic images and complex illustrations. If raster artwork is the only art available, submitting unflattened art files at 600 dpi is required for best printing results. Changing the resolution of an image from, for example, 72ppi to 300ppi will not amend the appearance of the file — it will instead cause a blown out or low resolution appearance. Images should be sized accordingly with all bleeds (if applicable) & clearances accounted for.

InDesign® (.indd) As with all submitted work, images should be sized accordingly with all bleeds (if applicable) and clearances accounted for. All fonts and image files must be included and provided upon submission.

Email Guidelines: Our e-mail address for submitting artwork is: art@budgetcard.com E-mailed art files cannot exceed 5MB. Files larger than 5MB should be compressed with a program such as Stuffit, submitted on CD/DVD, or uploaded to our FTP site. Contact art@budgetcard.com for FTP instructions and password.

Subject: E-mail messages should include Company Name, Quote Number and the Purchase Order Number associated with the attached artwork. “artwork for XYZ Promotions - PO#0000.”

Art Charges/Billing: Any required work such as typesetting, color separation, touch-up, creating bleeds, adding crop marks, etc. is subject to an art charge. Time spent preflighting/troubleshooting files (corresponding with client, searching for logos/type fonts, etc.) is also subject to an art charge. Please note, your job will take longer to reach production if Budgetcard prepares your art for you. Budgetcard bills $50 (v) per hour for artwork. We will advise the client if their art charge exceeds $40 (v) and does not appear on the purchase order as a line item “estimated art charge”. Client will also be advised if their art charge exceeds the estimated art charge by more than $40 (v).

Variable Data: Data files should be supplied as either Microsoft Excel, dBase, CSV or as delimited text files. Files will be produced in the order supplied unless otherwise specified on your purchase order. Consecutive Numbering does not require a data file, please specify the starting number and number of digits on the purchase order.

STOCK PMS COLORS (NO CHARGE):

Setup Charge: $25 (v) 1 color front and $50 (v) for 1/1 up to 4cp/4cp. Exact repeat setup charge: 50% of the original setup charge. MAG-20 setup charge: $80 (v). Reorder setup charge: $40 (v). No setup charge for quantities over 5,000.

PMS Ink Matches: BUDGETCARD offers 27 standard PMS colors at no additional charge (see above). Non-standard PMS matches on white stock is $30 (v). MAG-20 PMS Match: $40 (v). Budgetcard will make every effort to match the PMS color requested, however, we do not guarantee an exact PMS match. Ink matches may vary plus/minus one shade.

PMS Ink Matches on Colored Plastic: (standard PMS colors as well as non-standard colors) $120 (v).

Colored Stock: Available upon request.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Artwork: Pricing is based on the receipt of artwork as electronic files. Art specs can be faxed, emailed or accessed at budgetcard.com. Artwork submitted in other formats will require additional time and may be subject to additional charges. See Page 50. Calendar Holidays: Federal Holidays and Sundays will be indicated unless your specific holiday requirements are listed on the order. Calendars: See budgetcard.com for calendar templates. Also, all calendars shown in the catalog are standard. These are available in Spanish also. For custom calendars, camera ready artwork is needed; otherwise, art charges will be incurred.

Colored and Clear Stock: Metallic Sliver, Metallic Gold and Clear are available. Contact factory for price quote. For standard colored vinyl, contact factory for inventory. We can full bleed the stock to a color of your choice (except for metallic) at the price of an additional color. Cost (additional costs): Color Swatch Match: On white stock $80 (v), on colored stock $125 (v). Copy Changes: $25.00 (v) per change (1 color front up to 4 color process front and back). Minimum catalog quantity is required for each change. Contact factory for copy change charge for less than the minimum quantity. Drop Shipments: $10 (v) per location. Exact Quantity Request (no over/ under-run): Exact quantities can be shipped for a 5% surcharge of the order. For no overage but accepted underage up to 5%; no surcharge. This must appear on the purchase order. Gang Run Pricing: We commonly offer total quantity pricing plus copy changes. Contact Factory for further information. Less than minimum: Available. Contact factory for pricing. Order Cancellation: All charges incurred will be billed plus a $50 (v) cancellation fee.

Setup Charge: $25.00 (v) for 1 color front and $50.00 (v) for 1/1 up to 4cp/4cp. For exact repeat orders; $12.50 (v) for 1 color front & $25.00 (v) for 1/1 up to 4cp/4cp. MAG-20 setup charge is $80 (v). For exact repeat, setup $40 (v). No Setup Charge for quantities 10,000 pieces or more. Setup Charge if quantity is 10,000 pieces. Pricing: Subject to change without notice. Refer to www.budgetcard.com website for the most current information. Programming Charge: for personalization and numbering: $50.00 (v). Programming charge is not necessary if numbering is consecutive. Proofs: required on every order. No charge for the first proof sent via fax or email. For a revised proof, add $20.00 (v) per proof. Preproduction proofs are required for item PPC-30, Clear Cards and may be required on some jobs. A signed proof is legal and binding acceptance of copy as is. All proofs should be signed, dated and returned via fax or email. Production time does not begin until a proof has been approved. Preproduction proof: $80.00 (v) and includes overnight domestic shipping.

Overruns/Underruns: Due to standard printing requirements, we reserve the right to ship 5% over or under the quantity ordered. This is billed pro-rata and considered as fulfillment of the order. For exact quantity, a surcharge of 5% must be requested on the purchase order.

Self Personalization: If you are planning on printing our cards with a thermal printer, embossing, encoding on a magnetic stripe, typing on a panel, etc., Contact factory prior to production so that appropriate materials may be used.

Self Promotions: Any catalog item, next quantity price and no setup charges.

Production: Standard production is 10 working days after okay of proof. If 24 Hour or Rush Production is available on a product, it will be indicated next to the product pricing. Critical in-hands dates must be noted on the purchase order. All purchase orders and artwork received prior to 10:00 AM will be entered same day. Orders and artwork received after 10:00 AM may be entered next working day.

Random Samples: Available at no charge.

Ruler Scales: Customer agrees to a 1/64” tolerance on ruler scales. These are not precision instruments and should be used accordingly. Inches and centimeters on the front are standard. Architect and Engineering scales are available at no additional charge, but must be noted on the order (see page 41).

Shipping: Standard production is marked next to each product as well as rush production options. Production time begins after we receive proof approval. Production time does not include the day of approval. All orders are shipped from our plant in Massachusetts via UPS ground unless otherwise specified on your purchase order. Please make sure that the shipping method on your order acknowledgment and your ship date match your date required to have the product in hand. Any changes to the purchase order regarding ship to address or shipping method MUST be submitted in writing via email to cs@budgetcard. com. Shipments become the property of our customer upon our delivery to the carrier. Any claims for lost or damaged shipments must be filed with the shipping carrier by the customer.

Shipping and Handling: Additional Charges

Terms of Payment: Net 30 days from date of invoice. It is required that first time customers make a 50% deposit on their first order in order to establish an account. All future orders (assuming timely payment) would be Net 30 days. Credit terms available upon request.

Union Label: Not Available. Made in USA logo available upon request.

Contractual Precedence: Terms & Conditions as printed on our standard quotations and order acknowledgments will apply to the manufacturing of all products and will take precedence over terms & conditions in Customer’s purchase orders.

Rights to Promotion: Unless otherwise notified in writing at the time of the order, BUDGETCARD reserves the right to use any items it produces in displays, promotional and collateral material.

Returns: Claims must be made within 30 days of receipts of goods. A factory RMA number must be shown on the face of the package so that delivery will be accepted. All packages without a RMA number will be refused.

Indemnification: Any copyrighted material, patented information, trademarks, or intellectual property supplied to BUDGETCARD for purposes of reproduction shall be assumed to have proper authorization to be produced. Purchaser/customer shall indemnify BUDGETCARD, from any and all expenses, loss or damage on account of any claims or actions pertaining to supplied or requested artwork.
