Concrete can be found throughout our infrastructure (roads, bridges, buildings, stadiums, etc.) Join Infrastructure Design Group to learn how concrete is made and how it is used to make the structures we use every day. Tot Time is designed for toddlers and other little tikes, six years and younger, who may not be comfortable with the interactive play features. During Tot Time, the interactive play features will not be operational. Participants will need to have an active swim pass or pay daily admission rates.

Once a month, we will be adding a little extra to our playgroup times. In addition to playing and burning some energy, your child will have the opportunity to put together a fun craft. The same craft is each month at Kuehn and Morningside Community Centers. Crafts are free while supplies last. No registration required.

Gather your friends at our “house” to play, create, and socialize. Our playgroups are open for kids from infant age to prekindergarten age. The number of snowshoes available is limited so please sign up early for these limited space tours. GREAT BEAR RECREATION PARK, East Rice Street 3 to 10 p.m. Tubing $5 today!* 6:30 p.m. Frosty Frolics Bean Bag Tournament. Take part in the first-ever Frosty Frolics Bean Bag Tournament! Teams will be outside enjoying the crisp January air in the Falls Park Open Air Shelter, so dress appropriately! This will be a one-night tournament, with check in at 6 p.m. and games starting at 6:30 p.m. Grab a partner and see if you have what it takes to walk away with the prize! Registration required.

SPENCER PARK, Southwest side of South Cliff Avenue by I-229 9 a.m. Frosty Frolics 5K and 10K Walk/Run. Join the fun and competition of this frosty morning run. Races will be a 5K and 10K. Runners will follow the path along the Big Sioux River. Turn-around points will be noted along the route. Runners who are registered by December 18 will receive a T-shirt. SFPR is collaborating with The Outdoor Campus to offer a snowshoeing activity that will teach you the fundamentals of the sport of snowshoeing and allow you to spend time outdoors in the winter. SCHEELS ICEPLEX, 4300 Bobhalla Drive 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Frosty Frolics Teen Cosmic Skate. Come ice skate and socialize with your friends at our teen cosmic skate. Ages 14–19. This event will be held at the Scheels IcePlex and will be a fun-filled night of ice skating, grooving to a DJ, and playing games on the ice. Registration and payment will take place on the night of the event at the Scheels IcePlex. $5 entry/skate rental. Music provided.
