A heart-shaped nephrite tray mounted with a gold rim chased with laurel leaf tips and set with rubies; contained in its original velvet and silk-lined holly wood fitted case, the lid silk stamped ‘Fabergé, St Petersburg, Moscow, London’ beneath Imperial warrant. An aventurine bowl of identical shape by Perchin was exhibited in “Fabergé and His Contemporaries”, Helsinki, 1980. See Catalogue, no. 96, p. 98. Another Perchin aventurine bowl with jewelled rim mount, heart-shaped but symmetrical and without the curled point, was exhibited in “Fabergé: Hofjuwelier der Zaren,” Berlin, 1986-7.
