Gouache is an opaque paint that is thinned with water. Surfaces can be painted matt without leaving any stripes. However, it is also highly suited to detailed work. As this paint dries within a few minutes, it is very practical to use. Gouache is not waterproof when dry, which means that when you add a little water to the dried colours they can be reworked. Before Gouache can be used, it first has to be thinned with a little water otherwise it is too thick to use. The more water you add, the more transparent the paint becomes.

La gouache est une peinture opaque qui se dilue à l’eau. Elle vous permet de peindre des surfaces mattes et sans rayures, mais aussi des détails fins. Comme la peinture sèche en quelques minutes, elle est très pratique en usage. La gouache n’est pas résistante à l’eau après séchage. C’est-à-dire que vous pouvez retravailler les couleurs séchées en ajoutant un peu d’eau. Il est conseillé de diluer la gouache à l’eau avant son usage pour éviter que la peinture soit trop épaisse. La témpera es una pintura cubriente, que se diluye con agua y con la que se puede pintar zonas opacas y sin rayas. También permite bien el trabajo en detalle. La pintura está seca en tan solo un par de minutos, o sea, que es muy práctica de usar. Una vez seca, la témpera no es resistente al agua, lo que significa que es posible retocar los colores ya secos con un poco de agua. Antes de usar, la témpera siempre debe diluirse con un poco de agua porque si no, resulta demasiado espesa para trabajar. Cuanta más agua se añade, más transparente la pintura.
