Auto Registration
Registration is required: • within 60 days of purchase • within 90 days of becoming a resident • non-resident who owns a business and owns a vehicle trailer, etc. There are certain military and student exceptions. Requirements are located on the website. Required documents include: proof of title and/or current out-ofstate registration, VIN verification form, proof of Colorado vehicle emissions test for diesel vehicles only; odometer reading at time of purchase (if not on title); proof of insurance and payment of fees and specific ownership taxes must be made. Leash Law:
All dogs must remain leashed when on public land. Dogs, cats, livestock and other animals found off the owner’s property may be considered “strays” and could be impounded. Licensing:
All dogs residing in Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, El Paso County (resolution areas), Fountain, and Monument must be licensed and vaccinated by 4 months of age. All cats must have vaccines and Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs require licenses as well.
