ith a great deal of respect for the body of work and success many companies have brought to the industry, it is with great

pride that we present the services of JDL Group (JDL), with the intent of creating a more definitive platform from with to launch current and future project initiatives.

INTRODUCTION

When we first began to explore the housing market, a gap in the residential housing market, particularly LMI (Low to Moderate Income) and Affordable Housing space, was an obvious area where we could make a difference. The possibility of partnering with other like-minded groups was also an exciting proposition. Now, after being closely engaged for the past several years, in the affordable housing space, the “Missing Middle� market has proven to be a viable market to pursue as well. JDL is convinced that the idea of being closely aligned with other like-minded groups would be equitably advantageous. It is our belief that the collective expertise of our team and other market leaders, could form a balance of knowledge, skillsets and experience. This would ensure the success of current and future projects, while at the same time strengthening our internal processes to eliminate unnecessary loss of time, energy, resources and most importantly, capital. JDL Group desires to provide a one-stop, plug-in solution for 5 key components of a greater success model. These 5 key areas are as follows: 1) Design / Engineering, 2) Advising / Consulting, 3) Pre-Fab / Modification, 4) Media / Marketing and 5) Education / Training.

This can be a nightmare for the contracting company that does not have its own fabrication facility. They are completely at the mercy of third-party vendors. JDL has within its complement of companies, its own fabrication facilities located in North Dallas. Boxtley™ is one of JDL’s wholly owned companies which specializes in pre-fab, modular production of container-based, building units. Boxtley™ production facilities allow JDL to provide clients with the necessary support in order to complete projects in a timely, costeffective, quality-controlled manner. The more container-based construction projects become popular, the more the market will see increased competition and opportunities shrinking. Without the ability to prevent other players from entering the marketplace, companies will either see their position rise or fall. GCON (Global Conference on NeoRetroism) was recent event produced by JDL and held at the George W. Bush Presidential Center on the campus of SMU in Dallas, Texas. New events include: SARA (Sustainable Achievable Renewable & Affordable), an event focused on tackling the challenges of the Affordable Housing industry and the MODCON (Modular Conference), an event focused on advances in the world of Modular Construction. ne of the unique selling propositions of companies that are making a mark in the LMI and Affordable Housing market is that they

operate within the modular construction category. JDL has pioneered a successful model by utilizing repurposed shipping containers as a core building component. The fact that the trend is becoming more popular still does not solve the greater challenge of meeting the needs of the Missing Middle. If we were to use computer jargon, shipping containers and even other

modular forms of modular construction for that matter, are hardware. JDL has developed a “software� approach, which compliments hardware-based models in the marketplace. By software we are referring to our philosophy of approaching the design/development process in the most sustainable, attainable, renewable and affordable way possible.
