Established in 1845, Crystal Lake Cemetery is an outdoor museum. Come enjoy the stories of the permanent residents. Learn what is being done to protect and preserve the cemetery, and what the symbols on the gravestones mean. Find out more about the cemetery’s centerpiece, the Civil War Soldier’s statue, that has stood as a sentry for over 100 years. Class will meet at the cemetery.

FLORAL DESIGN: FROM COUNTRY BOUQUET TO THE UNIQUE NEW!

Using fresh and dried flowers, herbs and more, you will create unique bouquet designs from ordinary flower bunches. Additional tips on how to keep your bouquets fresher longer and how to obtain free plant materials will be provided. With the right tools and tips, you can surprise yourself with how quickly and economically you can fill your home with bouquets year-round. This is a fun and hands-on class with handout/resources available. All supplies will be provided at the class and are included in the fee.

LANGUAGE

ASL CONVERSATIONAL I

ASL consists of facial expressions and grammatical structures. Students will learn vocabulary and develop conversational skills through dialogue practices and partner activities. Deaf culture concepts will be introduced. ASL is a visual language and there will be no spoken language (no voice) used in this course. Textbook options will be discussed in the first class. A textbook is not required for this class.
