What Charities Consider When Distributing Aid Around the world, charities have been established to help provide support and relief to vulnerable and needy communities. Annually, donations to these charities can be in the hundreds of millions, meaning that for many charitable organisations, there are resources available to distribute.

H

owever, the process of distributing these funds is not always straightforward, given charities have to consider both the short and long-term impact. Regardless of the size or scope of impact, charities have the following considerations.

Who Will Receive the Funds/Donations? This is an important question whose answer might sometimes depend on the situation at hand. For example, in the case of a natural disaster, people and businesses affected directly and indirectly by the disaster are logical beneficiaries. However, charities must also consider the timing of distribution, which can introduce other dynamics.

When Should Aid Be Distributed? With the example of a natural disaster in mind, charities will often be under pressure to distribute aid to affected communities. However, deciding how best to utilise these resources requires research and time, as each community has different needs. Additionally, charities must determine the allocation for long-term activities, which must be done thoughtfully and communicated clearly to all stakeholders.

WITH THE EXAMPLE OF A NATURAL DISASTER IN MIND, CHARITIES WILL OFTEN BE UNDER PRESSURE TO DISTRIBUTE AID TO AFFECTED COMMUNITIES.

This is an important question whose answer might sometimes depend on the situation at hand.
