Welcome to Las Vegas and

Zumapalooza 2012!

Zumapalooza comes around once every 18 months - and in the world of technology, that can seem like an eternity. With the introduction of so many new disruptive technology trends like Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), User Virtualization and Cloud Computing, it’s more critical than ever to get timely, proven answers to your questions. That’s what Zumapalooza is all about and we are thrilled that you are joining us for our 6th Customer Solutions Summit. Las Vegas is more than just a destination for Zumapalooza—it’s the future for Zumasys and our customers. Led by two powerful figures in the technology industry, Switch SuperNAP CEO Rob Roy, and Zappos.com CEO Tony Hsieh, the Las Vegas technology market is hot! With a $350 million investment and revitalization effort from Mr. Hsieh, Las Vegas is being transformed into a vibrant urban community and a hot bed of technology innovation. Zumasys initially came to Las Vegas to build a new self-service cloud solution within SuperNAP, the world’s most powerful data center. However, that vision has expanded to include the relocation of several employees, and the hiring of local project management resources, and Zumasys is pleased to announce today the opening of its new 5,000 sq. ft. office and warehouse facility located just minutes from McCarran International Airport and SuperNAP. At Zumapalooza, you will get a behind the scenes look at The Cloud by touring the 2,000,000 sq. ft. SuperNAP data center, home to Zumasys’ Cloud Platform and the U.S. Inter-Cloud Exchange. Regardless of your present partiality to The Cloud, it’s imperative that you keep abreast of the trends in this fast moving segment of the market. As a provider of both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure, Zumasys offers a unique, balanced perspective that can help you develop the strategy that is best for your company. As always, our goal for Zumapalooza is to provide you with the opportunity to learn as much as possible in the most efficient format. This year we have created over 40 breakout sessions, including tracks geared towards the unique requirements of produce customers and companies utilizing Pick/MultiValue databases. I want to encourage you to attend as many sessions as possible, interact with your peers and our engineers and engage in dialogue at every opportunity. I assure you that the answers you seek are in the people who come together for Zumapalooza. I want to thank all of our vendor sponsors, especially our Platinum partners NetApp, SonicWALL, TigerLogic and Syncsort for their generous, ongoing support of Zumapalooza 2012. Without the backing of all of our sponsors, your presence and Zumapalooza itself would not be possible. Thank you again for attending. If there is anything we can do to make your stay more enjoyable, please email concierge@ zumasys.com. We have dedicated staff members available to you throughout the event. I’ll see you on the show floor.

While you are here, I hope that you will take in the beauty of the nearby Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, which offers spectacular sight seeing, bike riding, rock climbing, horseback riding and 30 miles of hiking trails.

After getting married, Paul and his wife Tiffaney relocated to Houston in 1995 and joined Jones Business Systems (JBS), a leading Unix software distributor. Over four short years, Giobbi witnessed JBS’ sales increase from $5M to $68M, an experience that would shape his future. In 1997, Paul led JBS’ acquisition of Orion Pacific Technologies where he would meet Zumasys co-founder Joe Cupp. In 2000, Paul Giobbi & Joe Cupp moved back to Southern California and orchestrated the buyout of the Enterprise Systems Division of JBS, which became Zumasys. Paul and Joe worked together to develop Zumasys’ unique culture until Joe’s untimely passing in December 2011. Gary Vaynerchuk

| Author of The Thank You Economy

Gary Vaynerchuk, born in 1975, is a New York Times and Wall Street Journal best-selling author as well as a self-trained wine and social media expert. From a young age, it was clear that Gary was a businessman. At 8 years old he was operating 7 lemonade stands in his neighborhood and by 10 he had moved onto selling baseball cards at local malls. In high school while working at his family owned liquor store, Gary started reading The Wine Spectator and wine books, and realized collecting wine offered an allure similar to his previous hobby of collecting baseball cards. With a wealth of knowledge and an entrepreneurial spirit, Gary spent every weekend of his college years at his parents’ wine store. Recognizing the importance of e-commerce in 1997, Gary launched Winelibrary.com and helped grow his family business significantly from $3 million to $45 million by 2005. In 2006, with a flipcam and a NY Jets bucket, Gary began Wine Library TV which revolutionized the wine world. His wine reviews soon attracted over 100,000 viewers each day and his die-hard fans nicknamed themselves “Vayniacs.” Gary’s cult-like following was the result of his unconventional, often irreverent commentary on wine. Using comical expressions like “Sniffy Sniff” and “The Oakmonster,” he encourages straightforward wine tasting and debunks wine myths. Gary does not claim to be a ‘techie’, but in 2005, he began video blogging and is known as a true social media trailblazer! He has close to 1 million followers on Twitter and was included in BusinessWeek’s list of the top 20 people every entrepreneur should follow. Gary’s second business book, New York Times bestseller The Thank You Economy, details the effect of social media on business and has become required reading for business leaders. Gary has appeared on countless programs from Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and Ellen to MSNBC, CNBC, CNN and NPR. He was also notably featured in Decanter Magazine’s 2009 Power List which is a list of the 50 most influential people in wine and named Innovator of the Year at Wine Enthusiast’s 2009 Wine Star Awards. Additionally, Gary was one of Askmen. com’s 49 Most Influential Men of 2009. Gary’s ultimate goal is to own the New York Jets.

The Thank You Economy From Gary Vaynerchuk, the author of The New York Times & Wall Street Journal Best Seller, Crush It! The world of business is coming full circle. The rise of the Internet and the empowerment of the common consumer has created a fundamental shift in how businesses are expected to behave. To take advantage of this opportunity, businesses will need to look backwards and scale the caring their grandparents’ businesses exhibited towards their customers or watch their competition pass them by.

Fortinet: Application Security: Beyond the Firewall

LogicMonitor: The New Profit Center – How Monitoring Makes Companies More Profitable

Web 2.0 applications enable instantaneous, always-on communication between employees, partners and contractors, generating great leaps in productivity. As a result, many organizations have integrated instant messaging, Twitter feeds, and Facebook pages into their everyday business practices. However, these new applications also introduce security concerns as they can tunnel through trusted ports, use proprietary encryption algorithms, and even masquerade as other applications to evade detection and blocking by traditional firewalls. This makes it much easier to transfer digital information undetected and unimpeded from inside an enterprise network, and for a new generation of viruses and threats to breach traditional network firewalls. Application layer attacks represent the latest generation of cyber threats. They require new types of protection above and beyond traditional firewalls. This session will address the nature of application layer attacks, the different types of such attacks, and the technology required to protect your organization. You will learn how you can stop attacks that occur at the application layer, help protect your IT infrastructure and help meet regulatory requirements.

11:30am Veranda A

Zumasys: How to Know When the Cloud Is Right for Your Business Cloud Computing may be the biggest buzz phrase in the business world right now, but is it right for your business? This session will cover the reasons to consider moving some or all of your apps to the cloud, where the ROI can be found, how it will impact your business and how to know when it’s the right time for your company. Veranda B

Zumasys: Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) Disaster Recovery is no longer simply an optional technology limited to only the largest enterprises – all companies need it today. The cost of implementing a successful DR solution can be disconcerting, and the complexity added to a company’s IT infrastructure can be more than intimidating. This session will explore the growing movement of Disaster Recovery as a Service solutions. DRaaS allows companies to pay a monthly fee to have DR provided as a service, freeing up capital for other areas of the business and keeping infrastructure complexity under control.

Do you consider your IT infrastructure to be just another cost center? IT monitoring solutions, by necessity, collect and aggregate a great deal of fundamental business data from your infrastructure – data that can tell compelling stories about your business. When performance monitoring – aimed at increasing uptime and optimizing staff time – is made accessible and presented in a meaningful way to those beyond just the IT department, it leads to better operational management decisions and greater insight into business metrics you may not have even known were there. In this session, we will reveal specific examples of companies that turned their monitoring data into tangible business benefits and previously untapped profits. Veranda E: Technical Content

AppSense: Freedom of Choice and People-Centric Computing AppSense user virtualization brings IT and end user priorities into balance. With user virtualization, IT teams no longer need to choose between their priorities and those of their users. Instead, they can deploy a highly standardized and cost-optimized desktop infrastructure that offers a personalized and responsive experience for users. They can also easily adopt new desktop and application delivery approaches and support a multi-OS environment with little, if any, user disruption. Users, in turn, enjoy unprecedented freedom of choice to utilize the mix of applications and devices that will make them most productive at a given point in time. They can roam with ease between native PCs and virtual desktops, utilize emerging smartphone and tablet devices with the full endorsement of their IT team, and never suffer an interruption as the desktop infrastructure evolves beneath them. Shoretel: Putting the Roof On the Mobile World Without Walls This interactive session will explore the highlights of how enterprises should architect their unified communications strategies to accommodate Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), multiple end points and diverse networks. Featured topics will include Desk Phone Replacement, Reduction of Wireless Costs, Smart Phone Collaboration Applications, Tablet conferencing and much more. Hills

If you are tired of manually cleaning up file servers and have no visibility into wasted space, then this seminar will show you a simple file analytical tool to get quick wins. After analyzing your data, Waterford will walk through a methodology to automatically tier aged files to lower-cost storage, all seamless for the end user. A walk through of the policy engine and end user experience will be demonstrated. This is great technology to review before you migrate to new storage or consolidate storage arrays. In addition to file servers, the same concepts can be applied to your email server to quickly reduce the size of mailboxes.

OLD RELIABLE Joe Cupp In Memoriam Working as the night janitor for Sunmo Corporation, a timeshare company in Irvine, California, Joe Cupp was introduced to computers in the early 80s when he was asked to rotate 9-track tape backups each evening. Training with Tom McTeer, Zumasys’ current VP Engineering, Joe eventually became the system administrator for Sunmo’s Evolution minicomputer, one of the first Pick licensees. Joe would later leave his day job as a teacher and football coach at Liberty Christian School to devote his entire career to supporting Pick MultiValue databases. In 1993, Joe co-founded Orion Pacific Technologies in Costa Mesa, California, which became TigerLogic’s (formerly Pick Systems) largest distributor with 400+ resellers across North America. Four years later, Joe helped to orchestrate the sale of Orion Pacific Technologies to Jones Business Systems (JBS), a $68M software distributor based in Houston, Texas. Over the next three years, Joe would work closely with Paul Giobbi, a fellow JBS manager, to grow the Enterprise Systems Division of JBS to $17M in revenues. Seeing an opportunity to move back to Orange County, Joe and Paul spun off from JBS in September of 2000 and formed Zumasys, Inc. With just a $20,000 investment,  20 

 1947–2011

Joe worked to grow Zumasys into a premier provider of infrastructure technologies and cloud computing solutions for small to medium businesses. Joe was instrumental in helping Zumasys increase its revenue 12 out of 13 years, earning several awards from CRN Magazine, the Orange County Business Journal and Inc. Magazine. Joe worked tirelessly to support the company’s more than 10,000 Pick D3 support users, personally investing himself in the business of his customers. No matter what time of day or night he was needed, Joe would advocate for his customers and often could be found at the office on Saturdays working and watching USC football. As one customer commented, two words described this philosophy - “Joe cared”. Joe mentored Zumasys’ first engineer, Jay Otto, who died of Melanoma in 2007—the two had an inseparable bond, which lives on today in the intensely close personal relationships that define Zumasys. Joe is survived by his wife Betty Martin, Accounting Manager for Zumasys; his brother Roger and sister Bonnie; and his entire extended family at Zumasys, the company he helped co-found 12 years ago.
