The Lord and the leper Mark 1:40-42; Ephesians 4:17-24
T
o believe that the Lord Jesus Christ can make us love the good things which once we despised, and shun those evil things in which we once took pleasure, this is to believe in Him indeed. Jesus can totally change the nature and make a sinner into a saint. This is faith of a practical kind, a faith worth having. None of us would imagine that this leper meant that the Lord Jesus could make him feel comfortable in remaining a leper. Jesus did not come to let us go on in our sins with a quiet conscience, He did nothing of the kind. His salvation is cleansing from sin and if we love sin, we are not saved from it. We cannot have justification without sanctification, there must be a radical change, a change of heart, or else we are not saved. Just as the leper needed a thorough physical change, so you need an entire renewal of your spiritual nature, as so to become a new creature in Jesus Christ. The power of sin is shaken in that man who looks to Jesus for deliverance from it. The man who frets under the yoke of sin will no long be a slave to it, if he can believe that Jesus Christ is also able to set him free, he shall soon quit his bondage.

Hoërskool Louis Trichardt se jaarlikse Mnr. en Mej. Triegie-kompetisie was op Woensdag, 25 Julie, ‘n suksesvolle skouspel, ten spyte van die probleme wat hulle gehad het met die elektrisiteit wat af was. Die tema van vanjaar se kompetisie was Alice in Wonderland. Vanjaar se wenners was Devan le Roux en Bernice Meiring (sittend voor) wat onderskeidelik aangewys is as Mnr. en Mej. Triegie. Agter hulle staan (van links na regs) Christelle Coetzer (Mej. Sosiale Media), Precious Ramabulana (tweede prinses), Linita Cilliers (eerste prinses en ook Mej. Fotogenies), Divan van Zyl (Mnr. Oud-Triegies verkies tot Merensky se nuwe LUK Selfs al is hulle “ver” van die huis af, is Louis Trichardt se kinders steeds aan die presteer. Drie voormalige leerlinge van Laerskool Louis Trichardt, Stefan Corbett, Steph-Marie de Lange en Kieran Albertus, is almal verkies tot Hoërskool Merensky se leerling uitvoerende raad. Stefan word verkies as die skool se nuwe hoofseun vir die 2018/19 akademiese jaar, terwyl Steph-Marie nie net as die skool se onderhoofmeisies aangewys word nie, maar ook as koshuishoofmeisie.
