Zoran Marinović Zoran Marinović, born in Croatian in 1973, is a documentary photographer and cameraman who has worked in this field for more fifteen years. Zoran’s work has been featured in many Croatian, Slovenian and Serbian newspapers and magazines and regional TV channels, covering conflicts, war, complex social, humanitarian and political issues in the world. Zoran’s work has been exhibited in Croatia and Europe and has won several awards such as best photo project by the Croatian Contemporary Art Foundation, Magazine Professional Photographer, Int. Kontinent Awards, Lens Culture, See Me / Art Takes NY, ... Throughout these years he spent reporting from countries like Sierra Leone, Afghanistan, Liberia, Paraguay, Nepal ... but what he witnessed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo had changed him profoundly in his professional and private life. Having spent time in one of the poorest countries in the world and yet the richest in natural resources, documenting everyday life he decided to get involved by organizing a humanitarian photo exhibition.

Dec 2013 - Muhungu Solo, a 14-year-old member of the Mai-Mai out on night patrol near his checkpoint where they take bribes from any who wishes to pass. Muhungu has been in the militia for a few years, he has never been to school all he known is his Chinese made heavy machinegun.
May 2013 - Nokambare Ombeni, a young MaiMai militiaman says farewell to his sister before leaving his village of Muhanga, north Kivu province. Nokambare is being transferred to a frontline area facing skirmishes with the rebel group M23.
Dec 2013 - At the Kitsumiro mine a police guard watches over the miners, who are often prisons of war, convicts or civilians captured from new territories. Most of them work only for food and are unable to escape their fate.
Dec 2013 - At the Kitsumiro mine a foreman shows a piece of gold worth about $5; the Kitsumiro mine produces about 4 kilos of gold per month. The eastern DR Congo is home to the worldâ€™s purist gold.
May 2014 - In north Kivu province a young MaiMai militiaman mans a perimeter bunker, holding on to a chicken that has been commandeered from the nearby village for dinner.
May 2014 - A young Mai-Mai militiaman on security detail for general Lafontaine, commander of the Mai-Mai Parecom in north Kivu province. The Mai-Mai are a community-based militia group defending local territory from other militia groups.
Apr 2013 - A Christian service held in the mental patient wing of the central prison in Bukavu. The Belgians built the prison when they were here exploiting the surrounding countryside for ivory, gold, diamonds, and anything else that might turn a profit.
