A Season To Celebrate Every fall we pause in the midst of what we are doing at church for our Fall Stewardship Emphasis. This is a time to recommit ourselves to supporting God’s mission here at Zion with our finances. Beginning on Sunday, October 21, and concluding Sunday, November 18, our theme will be A Season to Celebrate. We will celebrate the great ministries at Zion and the work God is doing amongst us. Watch for more details.

Mission Jamaica is Setting a Place for You An opportunity for life changing service is waiting for you. From medical to home building missions, there is a place for all to partner with God this coming February. The first payment of $175 is due Sunday, September 30. The first Team Meeting is Monday, October 1 at 7pm in the Isaac Room. Contact Pr. Luke Schmidt with any questions.

New Member Introduction The next New Member Introduction will be on Wednesday, October 3. The evening will begin with supper for you and your family beginning at 5:45pm with members of the Outreach Committee. The meeting will begin at 6:30pm. This introduction to membership provides information about Zion ministries and staff, an opportunity to meet others at Zion, and a little bit about what it means to be Lutheran. Childcare is available after the meal, but please register your children in advance. Sign up at the Information Desk or at ZionBuffalo.org/membership. Those that decide to become members will be formally received into our congregation on Sunday, October 14.

Women’s Bible Study-Esther A new Bible Study for women is beginning a series entitled, Esther: It’s Tough Being a Woman. They meet Wednesday mornings at 9:30 in the Zion Library. The Bible study is a personal examination of this great story of threat and deliverance. Author, Beth Moore shows how the story of Esther is applicable to our lives. The study runs through November 28. Contact Donna Magnan at 763.972.6403 to sign up.

The American Swedish Institute restaurant Fika was given a great review. If you’re one who plans ahead, Zion is taking a group to the Swedish Institute on Thursday morning, November 29. Cost is $16/person (without transportation) or $25 (transportation provided). More info in the October newsletter and online. Sign up at the information desk or online at ZionBuffalo.org.

Framing the Faith Framing the Faith is the foundational piece of Zion’s discipleship process. Simply put, we are going to build our foundation for living on God and God’s promises through Christ. This 7-week journey began on Wednesday, September 19, from 6:30 to 8pm. We will begin in a large group setting and then move into smaller discussion groups. There is space for 40 participants. Sign up online or at the information desk.
