There is a staffed nursery for infants and toddlers at the north end of the building. There is a Prayer Room available for prayer and meditation at the north end of the building.

Hurricane Relief ELCA Disaster Response needs your help to respond to Hurricane Isaac. Your gifts will help our church coordinate volunteers, provide spiritual and emotional care and provide family assistance for needs unmet by FEMA and insurance companies. You can give online at ELCA.org or by check (payable to Zion, in a yellow pew envelope marked Hurricane Issac).
Sunday School Parent Meeting Sunday school parent meeting is today at 9:40 in the Sanctuary. All parents are encouraged to attend the meeting, and childcare will be available for younger children in the nursery. Pick up information packets outside near the front door before the parent meeting (9:15-9:35) or after the parent meeting (10:00-10:30). Registration packets for those registered after September 2 won't be ready until the first day of Sunday school. Information packets can also be picked up during the week in the front office, or on the first day of Sunday school at the registration desk. If you still need to register there is a station near the packet pick up tables today or stop by the Sunday School Office before class the first time your student attends.

Framing the Faith is the foundational piece of Zion’s discipleship process. Simply put, we are going to build our foundation for living on God and God’s promises through Christ. This 7-week journey begins on Wednesday, September 19, from 6:30 to 8pm. Sign up online or at the information desk.

Ministry Fair Today
The Imuka Singers from East Africa will present a concert at Zion on Saturday, September 22, at 7pm.
The Ministry Fair in the Lobby/Narthex this morning is like a volunteer expo, an opportunity to see where you can enrich Zion’s ministry, and where Zion’s ministry can enrich you. Refreshments will also be served.
Mission Jamaica Meeting Is 2013 the year you’ll join a team of Zion members and friends to travel to Jamaica? Talk to any of the previous Mission Jamaica team members and you’ll find that it truly has been a life changing experience. In 2013 Pastor Luke will travel with the Mission Jamaica team to Montego Bay and the surrounding area. Information sessions will be held next Sunday, September 16 at 9:30 and 11:30am in the Zion library. It’s an opportunity to hear more about details of the trip and indicate your interest.
Zion Book Club: The Wrong Man The Zion Book Club will meet tomorrow evening, Monday, September 10, at 7pm in the Library to discuss The Wrong Man by David Ellis. This is a low pressure book club. Simply come for discussion with no preparation; participants are not obligated to agree on (or even finish) the books.
Free Community Breakfast Zion will be sponsoring and serving this month’s free community breakfast on Saturday, September 15, from 8:30-11am at the Buffalo Community Center. A group of younger adults from Zion will be serving this meal so please come, bring your friends and see how well they can cook! The menu includes pancakes or French toast, scrambled eggs or cheese omelets, sausage, juice, milk, and coffee.
New Member Introduction The next New Member Introduction will be held on Wednesday, October 3, at 5:45pm. This event is focused on helping you getting to know the staff, and other members. There will also be a brief overview of Lutheran Christian beliefs and practices, the ministries of Zion, and expectations of Zion members. Parents’ Night Out Parents, enjoy an evening out on Friday, September 28, while your children are enjoying an evening of fun and faith-filled activities! Zion’s Mission Jamaica Team is hosting Parents’ Night Out as a fundraiser for the February 2013 Mission Trip. Cost is $10 per child up to $25 per family. Register online, at the Information Desk, or by contacting the church office for a registration form.
Hear from the Zambia Team Want to hear about kids learning and praising and singing their national anthem in four different languages, giraffes and hippos, cooking huge pots of nshema over the fire, and Jill Hanson bungee jumping? The Zion to Zamia team will present slides from their 2012 trip in the Choir Room at 7pm on Thursday, September 20, and 9:30am on Sunday, September 23.
LSS Counseling Counseling is available at Zion once a week, on Thursdays. Evening appointments can also be scheduled. LSS is a provider for many insurances and has a sliding scale. Call Miho Adkins at 1.320.251.7700.
Kingery Family at St John’s St John's Lutheran Church will host recording artists The Kingery Family for a Fall concert of Bluegrass and Christian music tonight at 7pm. Tickets are $15 at the door.
