See an usher for NRSV Bibles, large print order of service and hymns. Children’s bulletins and ’Rainbow Bags’ with quiet toys are located at the Children’s Worship Station in the narthex. Please return bags after worship. There is a staffed nursery for infants and toddlers at the north end of the building. There is a Prayer Room available for prayer and meditation at the north end of the building.

Roxie Otten has resigned her position as one of our Co-Directors of Christian Education. We are sorry to see her go and will have a celebration of her ministry on Sunday, July 22nd. Roxie has been employed at Zion for about 5 years. Prior to her employment Roxie was an active volunteer and will resume that role at Zion. Roxie will pursue employment that allows her more freedom for family activities. The job opening can be posted on the website after church on Sunday and will appear in newspapers next week.

Office Administrator/Receptionist Position Available: Zion Lutheran Church seeks person with a minimum of three to five years of general office experience. Excellent organizational and communication skills required. Computer skills essential. Works collaboratively in a multi-staff environment. Must enjoy working with volunteers. Announcements & Upcoming Events It’s not too early to plan for Mission Jamaica 2013 Representatives of the Mission Jamaica teams will be on hand in the Zion Library on Sunday, July 8 at 9:30am and 11:30am to give a brief presentation about the details of next year’s trip. If you’re thinking about joining the 2013 MJ team, this is a great time to ask questions.

Open House for Jerry Specht All are welcome to attend Jerry Specht’s 90th Birthday open house in the Fellowship Hall on Saturday, July 14 from 1-3.

KID’s CHOICE-- VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Kid’s Choice is a Buffalo Food Shelf Program to give children who receive free or reduced lunches during school year a chance to go to the food shelf during the summer months to help them get some nutritious food and snacks. Zion has committed to have volunteers to help the kids ‘shop’ on July 11 and August 15. Zionaires have done this in the past and both they and the kids really enjoyed the experience. Distribution to kids is at the food shelf from 9:45 to 12:00 noon on the assigned dates. Please sign up at the information desk

Baptism Class Anyone wishing to schedule a baptism is asked to attend a class prior to the date of the baptism. Expectant parents, as well as those who already are parents, may attend the class. Scheduling of baptisms will take place at the class. The next classes are Sunday, August 12, at noon, or Sunday, October 14, at noon. Register at or by calling the office. The Zion Book Club selection for July is Lost in Shangri-La by Mitchell Zuckoff. The group will meet on Monday, July 9, at 7pm in the Zion Library. The August selection is Anishinaabe Syndicated: A View from the Rex by Jim Northrup. This is a low pressure book club. All are welcome to come for discussion.

LWR coffee sales will be available today in the Narthex. On Sunday, July 15, the ministry of music will be offered by special guests Kent Goodroad and Alyssa Schwitzer from our partner congregation, Redeemer Lutheran in Minneapolis. They will bring special music to Zion’s 8:30, 9:45 and 10:30am worship services. Many will remember Kent and Alyssa from the music they shared on Mission Sunday in May. An article about Alyssa appears in the July Zion newsletter, The Voice.

Children’s Ministries We currently have many excited children at camp. Please included them in your prayers for a safe and wonderful week ! Youth News Confirmation Registration for 2012-13 Registration for Confirmation for all new and returning students who will be in 7th or 8th Grade in Fall of 2012, is now open. Confirmation Guides Needed for 2012-13 If you are an adult who is able to assist with leading 7th & 8th grade students in a small group setting, please consider stepping up and becoming a Confirmation Guide. This is a two-year commitment on Wednesday nights during the school year. Contact Myron for more info or with questions. Current Confirmation Students Just a reminder that all Confirmation requirements are due Aug 1! All homework is available on-line. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Myron. UPDATE - Sr High Trip Meeting - Wed July 18 @ 5:45pm This is for all students and chaperones that will be attending the trip. This will be a time to work on team cohesiveness. All students need to be in attendance! UPDATE - Sr High Trip Parents Meeting - Wed July 18 @ 7pm This will be for all students and their parents to cover job duties, final itinerary, logistics and more! Golf Outing Sign up now for the annual 9 home scramble at wild Marsh to be held on Saturday, September 8. Sign-in and fellowship from 3:45pm and the classic will begin with a 5pm shotgun start. Cost is $25 which includes the 9 holes and the cart. Payment will go directly to Wild Marsh that day. Sign up as individuals, couples, threesomes, or foursomes. Groups will be configured for a 4-person scramble. Sign up online or at the information desk by September 2.

Thank you Drivers The Social Ministry Committee wishes to thank those who reached out in our community in June to help our neighbors by delivering meals 7 days a week, 3 routes a day to shut-ins in Buffalo with the Meals on Wheels program. Mark your calendars for the Marysville Pie and Ice Cream Social on Monday, July 30, starting at 5pm. Come and celebrate the beautiful Marysville church with some pie and ice cream before or after worship.

Relay For Life of Wright County in Buffalo; July 20-21 at Sturges Park The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Wright County in Buffalo invites all cancer survivors to participate in the event’s opening ceremony and survivor lap (6:30pm). Survivors will

be given VIP treatment during the survivor reception and activities and receive a FREE survivor t-shirt. The public is encouraged to join this celebration of life in honor and in memory of those who have been touched by cancer. The event runs July 20-21 at Sturges Park on Buffalo Lake. Entertainment and children’s activities start at 4:30pm on Friday and continue until 6:00am on Saturday. Join together for one night to find a cure. Special entertainment provided by Dr Steve Lockman and Tim and Carol Duo.
