Zion is now hiring staff members for this summer’s Zion Day Camp program. If you are energetic, responsible and enjoy kids, stop in and pick up an application today at the Info Desk! Must be 16 years or older to apply, call Holly with questions at 763-682-1245. Molly Trebus Benefit Friends of the Trebus family are hosting a benefit for Molly at Zion on Sunday, May 6, from 2-6pm. There will be a silent auction, Dinner $7 and Dessert $2. The Zion quilter’s group recently made 34 quilts for Lutheran World Relief that will be delivered to people in Tanzania. The quilt group wishes to extend an open invite to anyone at anytime to join them on Monday mornings in the Wilderness room beginning at 8:30am. At this time, FLAT twin or larger sheets (NOT FITTED) are needed to help create more quilts. These sheets can be old or new and any color. If you would like to donate some sheets please bring them to the Zion office. Q. We talk about “stewardship” but what is it? A. Stewardship is how we use all that constitutes our life, our time, our talents and our financial resources. We need to be intentional on how we use our financial resources for God’s glory and to further God’s purposes in this world.

Announcements & Upcoming Events Be a Part of the Zambia Puzzle This summer, a team of volunteers from Zion and the Buffalo community will be visiting the villages of Hope, an orphan village in Zambia, Africa sponsored by All Kids Can Learn International, Zion’s Global Mission partner. Stop in the narthex today or next Sunday and buy a puzzle piece to support the mission team. All donations will be used for the projects at AKCLI. Global Mission Sunday-May 6 Help us celebrate our Global Mission connections with: Festive worship, Fair Trade coffee sales, Booths of our Global Mission partnerships, Puzzle Project Fundraiser The sixth annual BWCA trip is scheduled for June 18 to June 22. Four Zion men have already committed to participate and four more available spots for those interested in the adventure and fellowship. Sweater Donations for Harvest of Hands As you put away your winter clothes and decide what you will still wear next year, consider if you have sweaters that could be donated to Harvest of Hands. Sweaters in good shape can have a new life after they are collected and cleaned ready to be sold at the fall Harvest of Hands event. Drop your sweaters off in the donation bin at Zion by Sunday, May 27. God’s Gardeners Zion is asking for participants to adopt a plot, 10’wide and 10-14’ deep, to plant flowers in memory of a loved one, or simply enjoy caring for a garden to beautify the south side wall of the parking lot. Some changes, as removing the first row of evergreen trees and installing a sprinkling system, have been made. Parent’s Night Out—Friday, May 11 Enjoy an evening out without worrying about the care that your children are in! Zion Lutheran Church’s Mission Jamaica Committee is hosting the event. This is for children birth to 5th grade from 6:00pm—10:00pm at Zion Luther Church. The cost is $10 per child or $25 per family. Please pre-register your child by contacting the church office or stop by the information after worship. Baptism Class Anyone wishing to schedule a baptism is asked to attend a class prior to the date of the baptism. Expectant parents, as well as those who already are parents, may attend the class. Scheduling of baptism will take place at the class. The next class is scheduled for Sunday, June 10. Marysville Church Clean-Up - May 12 from 9am-Noon All are welcome to help prepare the church for Summer worship services. Please bring a bucket and rag with you. Mark your calendars...Marysville Services start June 4th. The Red Cross Blood Mobile will be at Zion on Thurs., May 17.

Bring your friends! AGAPE is coming to Zion on May 16 @ 6pm AGAPE (aka Dave Sherer) is coming to Zion to lead a hip-hop worship for Confirmation/Sr High. The event starts at 6pm in Trinity Hall. His passion is to bring together people of all backgrounds and let them know about God's love for the whole world. All are welcome to this time of worship, testimony, communion and more! Senior Graduate Worship Planning - Thu May 3 @ 6pm Sr High students that will be graduating this year are invited to help plan the Graduate Recognition Service. The meetings will be in the youth room on Thursday evenings at 6pm. The more, the merrier. Many hands make light work! Confirmation Registration for 2012-13 Registration for Confirmation for all new and returning students who will be in 7th or 8th Grade in Fall of 2012, begins on May 21. The Good $ense Budget Corse, developed by Willow Creek Church, can help you do all these things and more. Tom Moline will host this 6-week course on Sundays, beginning May 6, at noon. A Time to Dance - Saturday, May 5 Women, mark your calendars for a great get-together here at Zion. Bring family and friends. The event starts at 9:30am with a catered brunch in Trinity Hall, followed by a program filled with thoughts about our daily dance through our Christian life. RSVP by Apr 30 by calling the Zion office, or sign up at the Info Desk. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 12 and under; pay at the door. First Sunday Drummer Do you play the drums? Do you like the idea of spreading the Gospel through song? First Sunday is looking for a drummer to join our Praise and Worship Team. First Sunday’s song list is played almost daily on 98.5 FM (KTIS.) First Sunday rehearses on Monday nights from 6-7pm in the sanctuary and leads worship on the first Sunday of every month. This position is open immediately (May 7 would be a great night to start). Singing is not required. If you are interested, contact Pam Freer (612.280.2726) or the church office for details.
