Relay for Life Open House - TODAY from 2-4pm This open house will help committee volunteers get the word out into the community about: Starting or joining a team, sponsorship opportunities and fundraising events. The date for the Buffalo Relay For Life event at Sturges Park is July 20, 2012. Registration begins at 4:30pm with opening ceremonies beginning at 7:00pm. Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. Zionaires The Zionaires will be meeting this Wednesday, February 29 right after the Noon Worship Service for a pot luck meal and a guest speaker in Trinity Hall. Announcements & Upcoming Events New Bible Study “How the Bible Speaks to Us about Suffering and Hope." There is evil and suffering in the world. There is also hope. All of us face issues of suffering throughout our lives and struggle to find answers to help us deal with this. In this class, the group will look at how the Bible provides answers as well as provides hope to deal with some of life's most difficult questions. There will be eight classes which will begin Thursday, March 15 from 6:30-8:00 PM in the library and will run each Thursday until May 10. On April 19, the meeting will take place in the Triple Fish Room. There will be no class on Maundy Thursday April 5. Register at the Info Desk. Be sure to bring your Bibles. The class is led by Rick Johnson. First Communion Class Students in 5th grade and above are invited to attend this First Communion Festival on Thursday, March 1 at 5pm or Saturday, March 3 at 9am. At least one parent or grandparent is encouraged to attend with each student. There is a cost of $5 per student. Sign up at zionbuffalo.org/children or at the Info Desk. Join us at Winterfest, Sunday March 18 Winterfest is open to the whole Buffalo community and is a great opportunity to invite friends and neighbors to a big winter party at church. The kick-off begins at 2:30 with activities ranging from sledding, snow sculpting, bonfire, indoor concert, white elephant gift exchange, chili tasting contest. Don’t miss out on the fun— hope to see you there. Easter Baskets Preparations for Easter Baskets has begun. Zion volunteers will be needed to help assemble and distribute to Buffalo Food Shelf clients on Thursday, March 29 here at Zion. Barrels will be set up near the Information Desk for you to place donated products—lists of items needed are also available by the barrel. Cash donations will also be accepted. Envelopes will be provided to help buy products economically from Second Harvest.

Youth News Confirmation Classes There are NO Confirmation Classes during Lent. Enjoy Wednesday Lenten services with your family. Bible Camp Zion is going to Camp Wapo in Amery, WI, July 6-13, 2012. Come be a part of a great experience! 6th-8th Grade - Youth Camp - July 8-13 Cost is $290/camper. A $100/camper deposit is required. 9th - 12th Grade - TIM (Teens in Mission) Team - July 6 - 13 Cost is $290/camper. A $100/camper deposit is required. Look for brochures at the Info Desk. Registration and deposit must be in by Mar 4. Graceland - Sr High Youth Group - Wed Nights 7:30-9pm Enjoy Lenten Service with your family first. Snowtubing - Wed Mar 7 @ Elm Creek in Maple Grove Open to all 7th/8th Grade and Sr High students. Students must be at Zion by 3:30pm. Group will return at 8:15pm. Students must have gloves, hat and warm coat. There is a waiver for parents to sign available on-line. Cost is $20, which covers ticket and bus. Bring money for food or a sack lunch. Go to zionbuffalo.org/youth for more info Buffalo Area Food Shelf Gala The annual ‘Friends of the Food Shelf’ Gala will be held on Saturday, March 3 at St Francis Xavier Education Center. It will be an evening for adults including a Social Hour, Dinner catered by Russell’s on the Lake, Carnival games, and entertainment starting at 5:30 PM. You can purchase tickets for $25 from your Zion Food Shelf Board Representatives (Beth Jansen and Roger Brenny). This is a great way to help support our Buffalo Food Shelf and enjoy a night with friends! Intergenerational Dinner - Sun Mar 11 @ Noon The Zion Senior High youth would like to invite all of Zion‘s senior adults (55+) to an Intergenerational Dinner on Sunday, March 11, starting at Noon in Fellowship Hall. This will be an opportunity for those gathered to share their faith and their personality through hymns, stories, games and more. The free meal will include Chicken Kiev, rice pilaf, corn, salad, dinner rolls and drinks. Senior adults, please sign up at the Info Desk, in the front office, or online by Wednesday, March 7.
