During Worship Today… A yellow pew card is available for requesting prayers or membership information Hearing assistance devices for worship with user controlled volume area available from the ushers. See an usher for NRSV Bibles, large print order of service and hymns. Children’s bulletins and ’Rainbow Bags’ with quiet toys are located at the Children’s Worship Station in the narthex. Please return bags after worship. There is a staffed nursery for infants and toddlers at the north end of the building. There is a Prayer Room available for prayer and meditation at the north end of the building.

Love INC-Big Woods Informational Meeting Have you heard about Love INC (In the Name of Christ) - Big Woods that is ministering to our community? Are you curious about how they serve or interested in seeing how Love INC operates? Please join us for some hot drinks and a chance to learn more about our Clearinghouse Operations. The meeting is on Monday, January 23, at 6:30-7:30 pm in the Chapel at Park Terrace Care Center. You will hear some of our Key Volunteers reflect on 2011 and look ahead to what they anticipate the coming year to be like in their individual Love INC positions. It should be a very fun and informative evening! Food For Friends Food For Friends (a ministry that delivers both warm and frozen meals to those in need) is preparing and packaging meals for the freezer this Saturday Jan 21. If you are interested in precooking meat or helping on Sat 9 a.m. - noon (lots of fun to be had!), please signup on the Table, email or contact Julie Kabe 682-2889. You can also support this ministry by donating funds.

Camp is for students from 2nd-12th Grades. 2nd - 3rd Grade - SEEDS Weekend - July 6-8 - Cost is $95/Camper 4th-6th Grade - Youth Camp - July 8-13 - Cost is $280/camper Look for brochures at the Info Desk Father Daughter Sweetheart Dance Mark your calendar now for the 5th Annual Sweetheart Dance at Zion on Sat Feb 11 from 6-8pm. Announcements & Upcoming Events Wednesday Supper Menu There’s a tasty meal waiting for you every Wednesday from 5:006:15pm in the Fellowship Hall for suggested donation of $3/plate. January 18: Baked Potatoes January 25: Sloppy Joes Membership Class Those who are ready for a deeper commitment to this ministry are invited to the next Membership Class at 11:45am on Sunday, January 29. This orientation to membership provides a brief overview of Lutheran Christian briefs and practices, the ministries of Zion, and expectations of members. Those that decide to become members will be formally received into our congregation on the following Sunday, February 5. Due to the lack of snow the 1st Annual Winterfest and Chili Cool-Off has been RESCHEDULED for Sunday, March 18 beginning at 2:30pm. Zion Book Club Winter Picks The Zion Book Club is taking a break from monthly get-togethers during the winter and will resume Monday meeting times in April. During this break they suggest these titles: Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom, Faithful Place, by Tana French and Reclaiming the Bible for a Non-religious World by John Shelby. Zionaires We will be gathering a group to go to the Plymouth Playhouse to see “A Mighty Fortress” on Thursday afternoon, Feb 2. More details coming in next few weeks. Mission Trip to AKCLI in Africa-Summer 2012 As part of our Global Mission partnership, Minda Squadroni is taking a group of people to the Village of Hope in Zambia in the summer of 2012. It will be a two week trip, tentatively set for July 25 through August 10. Five adults have already said that they would be part of this team. The group will be volunteering their time and talents while there. Any talents that you have can and will be used at the Village. The Village is co-founded by Minda ’s sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Benedict Schwartz. Approximate cost for the trip is $4000 which will include a passport, shots and prescriptions, plane fair (approx. $2500), daily room and board - $50 per day, spending money, and money for a possible trip to Victoria Falls. Congratulations to Lauren Comes Flying who was just crowned the 2012 Ms. Teen of Wright County on January 11. Lauren is the daughter of Edward and Tracy Berner.

Informational meetings will be set up as needed. The trip will be an exciting way to share faith in a global community.
