During Worship Today… A yellow pew card is available for requesting prayers or membership information Hearing assistance devices for worship with user controlled volume area available from the ushers. See an usher for NRSV Bibles, large print order of service and hymns. Children’s bulletins and ’Rainbow Bags’ with quiet toys are located at the Children’s Worship Station in the narthex. Please return bags after worship. There is a staffed nursery for infants and toddlers at the north end of the building. There is a Prayer Room available for prayer and meditation at the north end of the building.

Announcements & Upcoming Events Women’s Summer Bible Study Women of all ages are invited to one or both of two Summer Bible Study events to be held at Zion for women. These groups will be led by Seminary Student, Jill Davis on Tuesday, July 19, at 9:30am and Thursday, August 18 at 7pm.
Marysville Ice Cream Social This year’s annual ice cream social will be held at the beautiful Marysville church on Monday, July 25, starting at 5pm. Come and celebrate the beautiful Marysville Church with some pie and ice cream before or after worship. A free will offering will support the Marysville Preservation Fund. If you would like to donate a pie for the occasion, please sign up by July 22 (pies can be brought with you to Marysville or dropped off at Zion during the day on Monday).
Love Inc Bowling Fundraiser Bowling has been creating memories for people, young and old, for many years. Join the fun at Love Inc Big Woods Bowling Fundraiser event at Huikko’s Bowling Center on Sunday, July 24th at 12:30pm with numerous interactive activities and prizes! Pick up your registration form at the information desk or on-line at www.loveincbigwoods.org and sign up with a five person team with any combination of adults and kids. JOIN THE FUN!!
Photo Directory Update Photographers from Lifetouch will be at Zion from September 28-October 1 for directory update photography. This is a great opportunity for those who are new to Zion since 2008, or did not have your photo taken at that time to be added to Zion’s family album. Participants will receive a free 8x10. More information to come at a later date. Host/Hostess are needed for those days to help with registration. Please stop by the information desk and sign up if you are available to help.
School Supplies Love INC-Big Woods and the Social Ministry Committee has begun the collection of school supplies which will be distributed to kids in our area who might not be able to afford them. A list of the items that we are asking for are listed by the collection ‘barrel’ which is located by the information desk. Stay tuned for more information!
Baptism Class Anyone wishing to schedule a baptism is asked to attend a class prior to the date of the baptism. Expectant parents, as well as those who already are parents, may attend the class. Scheduling of baptism will take place at the class. The next class is Sunday, August 14 at noon.
Volunteers Needed Zion’s Sunday School program can only be a success with the help and support of many wonderful and willing volunteers. Please consider volunteering in the Sunday school program for the 2011-2012 school year. Contact Holly for more info. Summer Childcare at Zion Zion day Camp (ZDC) is a summer program at Zion for children who have just finished Kindergarten, through 12 years old, and is open weekdays throughout the summer from 6:30am—6pm. Daily a activities include free time and snacks, bible stories, structured games, and creative projects. Staffing has been determined based on June registration, so you may be put on a waiting list until additional staff hours are warranted.
Youth News Confirmation Students and Parents All Confirmation requirements are due no later than Aug 1. Please do not wait until Aug 1 to turn in all of their requirements. Confirmation Registration This is for all new and returning students who will be in 7th or 8th Grade in Fall of ‘11. Go to zionbuffalo.org/confirmation to register! Parents: Confirmation small group guides are needed as well. Take time to prayerfully consider making a two year commitment to foster the spiritual relationships of students. Middle School Canoe Trip - Thu Aug 4 - Sat Aug 6 Come canoe the Namekogan and St. Croix Rivers. This is open to current 6th-8th Graders. Cost is only $70! Deposit is $25. Sr High Mission Trip Packing Party - Sat Jul 23 @ 4:30pm Blessing/Sending of students - Sun Jul 24 @ 10:30am Service Graceland Summer Schedule: Graceland, the Senior High youth group, will not meet through July, but will meet August 10 and 24 from 6pm-8pm in the Youth Room. Each night, there will be a meal, worship, games, and/or study. These nights are open to all students who will be in grades 9-12 in Fall 2 011. each night will have a different theme, so come prepared with a Bible and notebook.
Memorial Butterfly Release All are invited to attend the Guardian Angels - Elim Hospice Memorial Butterfly Release on Monday, July 18th at 7pm at Park View Care Center Chapel. A suggest $20 per butterfly release in memory of a loved one. Refreshments to follow the release. Call Rachel at 763.552.2160 by July 18th to order butterflies.
International high school exchange students are still waiting to be placed with host families to study during the 2011-2012 school year. The STS Foundation, a nonprofit student exchange organization, is proud to help facilitate student and host family relationships and look forward to finding new host families in the Buffalo School District. If your family is interested in being a host family please call local Area Representative, Kari Becker at 320-234-3475 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also find more information on the STS Foundation flyer posted on the church bulletin board. Please note that all student placements need to be completed by August 3rd for 2011 fall enrollment. The process leading up to this point can take up to three weeks to complete. Please take this deadline into consideration if interested in hosting a student for this 2011 fall enrollment.
