Q. Are there any Christian based financial education tools available? A. There are many great sources available. I would be remiss if I didn’t include 2 more sources that Lutherans can take pride in: 1.) The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, the direct link to stewardship is elca.org/growing-in-faith/discipleshipstewardship.aspx 2.) Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is at thrivent.com. There are lots of great resources at both websites.

2011 Easter Garden Each year, Zion has a beautiful display of different plants and blooming flowers for our Sunday morning Easter Services. The plants/flowers are usually given in memory of or in honor of someone special to you and/or your family. It is a nice way to recognize loved ones and to show gratitude for God’s many blessings. The plants are arranged on Saturday at noon. If you can help, please feel free to stop in, and lend a hand. If you would like to donate a lily or other plant: 1. Fill in the form below, by Monday, April 18. A list of plant donors will be published in the bulletin on Easter Sunday. 2. Order from the Zion Property Committee Plant Fundraiser (order on-line or stop by info desk Sunday for more details), order from the florist directly, or pick one up at a grocery store. Instruct the florist to put your name on your plant and have them deliver it between 9:00am and 11:00am on Saturday, April 23. 4. IF YOU BRING THE PLANT, REMEMBER TO PUT YOUR NAME ON IT! 5. Pick up your plant after the 10:30 Easter Service or Tuesday, April 26. The office is closed on Monday.

A Mission in Malaysia Kelsey Mackereth has a story to share that is worth hearing. On Sunday, April 3 at 9:30am in the Choir Room Kelsey will share stories and information from her year of mission work in Malaysia. Kelsey is a BHS graduate and member of Zion who returned from her Malaysia in July 2010. She shared a few of her stories recently at Zion’s Mission Sunday on March 13. Her talk in April will allow for time to hear more about her time in Malaysia, see photos from her year, and ask questions about her travels and her work. Kelsey is the daughter of Joel and Laurie Mackereth. She is currently on staff at Camp Ewalu in Strawberry Point, IA. Come and join in welcoming Kelsey back to Zion on April 3 as we listen to her story of God’s work around the globe.
