Zion Annual Meeting The Annual Congregational Meeting of Zion Lutheran Church will be held in Trinity Hall on Sunday, December 4, following the 10:30 service (at approximately 11:30am). All voting members are requested to attend, and should have received further meeting information by mail. A voting member is defined as confirmed, communing, and contributing. Decorating for Christmas Its time to decorate Zion for the holidays. Help is needed to decorate Christmas trees in the narthex on November 29th @9:00am. You are also welcome to invite anyone interested in helping. Coffee, treats, conversation, and fun. Q: What is the difference between Stewardship and Fundraising? A: Good stewardship raises money but does so in the context of broader and deeper concern about giving as a way of life and not simply a donation to a project. Stewardship: A calling to goodness emanating from a confession of faith and immersion in the church and its traditions. Fundraising: A process of practices and conduct predicated upon a legalistic approach focused on the individual, culminating in a sense of donor choice or donor rights and what the donor is due.

Mission Trip to AKCLI in Africa-Summer 2012 As part of our Global Mission partnership, Minda Squadroni is taking a group of people to the Village of Hope in Zambia in the summer of 2012. It will be a two week trip, end of July through the first week of August. Already five adults have said that they would be part of this team. We will be volunteering our time and talents while we are there. Any talents that you have can and will be used at the Village. The Village is co-founded by Minda Squadroni’s sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Benedict Schwartz. Kathleen will be at Zion on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 10 am in the library to answer questions about the trip. She will also be talking at the Global Mission Dessert event on Monday, Dec. 5 at 7 pm in the Fellowship Hall. If you are interested, please join us for more information on Dec. 4 or 5th, or contact Minda Squadroni at mjsquadro@gmail.com or 682-4064. The trip will be an exciting way to share our faith in our global community.
