At the interview demonstrate your sincerity, knowledge and passion for the organisation. Research shows no matter what job you have in life, your success will be determined 5% by your academic credentials, 15% by your professional experiences, and 80% by your communication skills.
BUILD UP YOUR RESILIENCE
Expect to have some disappointments as well as success along the way. It’s important to understand that you will learn from these experiences and use them to your advantage in future interviews before you land that first job.
Work out which paths make sense for who you are and what you want to achieve in life.
It’s not easy to identify your capabilities and potential on your own. Find someone who can coach you about what’s possible and support you along the journey. Your university careers department can also provide access to your alumni network and events – giving you a chance to find out about professions or industry sectors you know little about, but may have the perfect skillset for and can help you to create an eye-catching CV and LinkedIn profile.
