Parish News —–————— Weekly Offerings —-————–

Monday, Jan. 24 6:30 Jace Spenser (L) 8:00 Ruben & Alice Lugo (D) & Prisila V. Magallon (L)

Thank you for your continuing support of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish. For the fiscal year July 1, 2010 - June 30, 2011, our parish budget calls for $22,232.00 to be donated weekly at the Sunday collection. The collection for Sunday, January 9, 2011 was $22,349.53 in addition to approximately $1,097.40 which is donated weekly in January via automatic debit. The collection is not only used for operating expenses each week, but also for any ongoing repair work, upgrades, etc. to our parish facility.

Tuesday, Jan. 25 6:30 Henry Joseph & Julia Wibbelmann (D) 8:00 Ellen McConnelly (L) Wednesday, Jan. 26 6:30 Eric Dohrmann ( D) 8:00 Celesta Brunton (D)

Welcome News! The IRA Charitable Rollover passed. On the afternoon of December 17, 2010, the President signed into law The Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010. This bill restores the IRA Charitable Rollover for 2010 and permits its use in all of 2011. If you own an IRA and are over age 70½, you may transfer up to $100,000 directly from your IRA to Our Lady of the Assumption because we are a qualified charity. You may not have taken your 2010 required IRA distribution and may reduce your income taxes with an IRA charitable rollover. Even if you have taken your required IRA distribution, you still may find the IRA charitable rollover a very convenient way to make a year-end gift. Thank you very much for your support.

—–— Families of Nazareth Movement ——– You are invited to join us! Tuesday mornings at the Parish House (35 N. Dunning St.) at 9:15am and Wednesday evenings in San Miguel Room (Parish Center) at 7:30pm. Both groups will reflect on the book, In the Arms of Mary by S. C. Biela. This book reminds us that God calls us to acknowledge who we really are – without being afraid of His rejection or judgment – thus ripening within us the awareness that Divine Love, God's Merciful Love, overcomes everything.

——————Hermits of St. Giles—————— Hello Everyone, Entering the heart of who we are can sometimes be frightening. We may find ourselves face to face with deep seated wounds. These spiritual wounds can leave us drained of energy with strong feelings of sadness and anger. Because of these feelings we try real hard to avoid them. Sooner or later we must face our internal brokenness in order to find lasting healing. When we begin to try, Christ Jesus will be right there with us, providing grace and comfort. It is much like having surgery to relieve the suffering we have endured. Our faith is now being tested. Courage and trust in Christ will lead us to healing. In this healing, we will begin to experience a deep inner joy and light in our heart. This is the promise of our Creator. Remember, since He is our Creator and has willed each of us into existence. He loves us dearly and will always remain by our side. Have a blessed week. Love and prayers, Bro.Mark The Hermits of St. Giles is an association of disabled men and women who are homebound because of chronic illness and disability. Their ministry to the church is to offer their sufferings for all through prayer. -9-
