Featuring 6 collections, including multi-purpose, upholstery and drapery, Re-Invent showcases 3 new fabric constructions manufactured from recycled polyester, fully certified and compliant with the Global Recycled Standard (GRS).

What is the Global Recycle Standard?

(GRS) The Global Recycle Standard (the GRS) is a standard of verification for companies to determine the recycled content of their products.

This standard can be applied to finished products or even products still in development. The GRS ensures that corporate claims about the recycled content of products are accurate and up to date. In order to be able to claim the Global Recycle Standard certification of a consumer product, every party involved in the production of it must ensure that they are also certified by an independent certification body - Control Union.

Companies participating in this certification process are audited on a anuual basis - this audit assesses the production, trading and

manufacture processes to ensure the recycled content of our fabrics is authentic, starting with the company supplying the waste product (plastic bottles), followed by the factory converting the plastic bottles to PET (polyester), to the mill weaving the fabric.

To provide a seal of authenticity, each step of the process outlined above is certified with a unique ‘Transaction Certificate’ to authenticate every batch of fabric. This offers us the guarantee that the recycled content is genuine and traceable back to the original discarded plastic bottle, providing end to end transparency .

This end to end traceability and transparency offered by GRS is such an important step in becoming environmentally conscious and offering sustainable fabrics. GRS certification and GRS certified products is a natural fit for FR-One, aligning with our core values as a company.

FR-One Fire Retardant fabrics began by perfecting the fibres with Inherent Fire-Retardant characteristics (IFR), a quality that is embedded in the molecular structure of the fibre and will therefore never diminish. Following years of scientific development, engineering and testing, FR-One created Fire-Retardant fabrics look and feel natural and are rigorously tested and assessed for your peace of mind.

All FR-One Fire Retardant fabrics are rigorously tested in independent, certified laboratories and testing houses. In order to preserve the Inherent Flame-Retardant characteristics of FR-One fabrics, it is imperative to refuse any additional treatments or finishes as it may affect or alter the fabrics’ Inherent Fire Retardant characteristics and quality.

When FR-One fabrics are washed, there is no release of any harmful treatments whatsoever.

FR-One fabrics are high performance.

We test our fabrics for durability, colour fastness, stability and strength.

All FR-One fabrics are fully washable and have strong sound absorption properties. (Tested under ISO 35411654, most of our designs are classified as ‘Extremely Absorbing’, category A and B).

FR-One Fire Retardant fabrics are environmentally safe and not harmful to human health. FR-One Fire Retardant fabrics are certified under the Oeko-Tex standard 100.

Oeko-Tex 100 is an environmental certification system relating to the complete production process of textile products. Fabrics can only be certified Oeko-Tex 100 if all components meet the specified requirements, which are regularly updated and go beyond legal regulations. The result is all FR-One Fire Retardant fabrics are produced by environmentally friendly mills.
