employee since 2008 The Zappos Culture is being greeted by all as you walk into the building. It’s breakfast being served by Tony and Fred. It’s watching a parade of people in HR go by dressed like barn animals and throwing candy. It’s taking shots with people in cougar court. It’s the Tech team showcasing all of their awesome inventions. It’s being able to dance at the All-Hands meeting. It’s a water balloon fight with the Finance team. It’s meeting with a vendor to talk about how good business is. It’s celebrating the birthday of a team member with cupcakes. It’s dying your hair blue for a great charity. It’s talking about merchandising to the new CLT training class. It’s taking a hip-hop class at the company gym. It’s cramming all your friends in the photo booth in the break room. It’s giving someone an employee bonus and seeing the reaction on his or her face. It’s watching the sexy sax man serenade the whole building. It’s the feeling of when you exhale, knowing that this is where you want to work for the rest of your career. Yup ... and this was just Tuesday. :)

One morning I had a brand rep visiting, and we had taken our rep to the Z-Cafe for a muchneeded caffeinated beverage. We were sitting on the couches, sipping and chatting, when a parade walked by outside the window – complete with a person dressed up in a zebra costume. I viewed this, processed it, and continued on with the conversation. About three minutes later, the rep interrupted me and asked not only about the presence of a zebra on our campus, but our lack of reaction. That’s when it hit me: nothing surprises me anymore. Our culture is the epitome of “Create Fun and a Little Weirdness,” so while it seemed perfectly normal to us Zapponians that a zebra was wondering around, I had to admit that it probably appeared odd to an “outsider.” Super heroes, jello shots, trumpets … even zebras have just become part of my everyday life and I LOVE it. :)

employee since 2012 The Zappos Culture is in a class by itself! It’s an ice cream sundae of creativity, common sense, and communication … sprinkled with passion and drive … and topped off with a healthy amount of community cohesion. And I’m George Costanza at the US Open!!

employee since 2011 “Every man’s ability may be strengthened or increased by culture.” -John Abbott The Zappos Culture strengthens the roots of our company. It is meant to keep us together, but also to separate us from the competition. Zappos is special due to our culture and I am very proud to be a part of it.

employee since 2010 Thank you, Zappos, for the family, the friends, the ability to learn something new every day, and for all the support and love that anyone could ever ask for. Without our Zappos Culture, none of this would be possible.

employee since 2006 The Zappos Culture is something that can only be felt, not described in words. When you walk through the door in the morning … which is held by a fellow Zapponian ... and you get an automatic smile and “Good Morning,” you know that the culture is still thriving! All companies go through challenging times, but when everyone is still acting as a team and working together to provide the best service to our customers, vendors, and ourselves, it is truly inspiring and an honor to say that I am a part of the Zappos Family.

employee since 2010 As my second full year of working at Zappos approaches, I still find myself amazed at what a transformative experience it has been. Although it’s really only been a short time since I got here, it often feels like everything that came before this in my professional life (and in many regards, in my personal life as well) was a lifetime ago. Before I came here, I remember waking up and dreading the thought of having to go to work each day. I remember how frustrating it was to wear a suit every day, only to come into a barren cubicle that nobody walked past. I remember the feeling of relief I got every day when the clock struck 6 p.m. and I could leave work as quickly as possible. Zappos has been the opposite of all of that. I love what I do. I love my team. I love this company. I’ve even fallen back in love with my city. Thank you, Zappos.
