congratulations! Congratulations to Junior, Naomi Wafula who represented the country in the recently held G&P tournament in Zambia.

TOURNAMENT RULES There are some new rules the foundation have come up with for tournaments, just to highlight a few: there will be categorized age groups with different tee boxes for each age group, National team selection process, parent rules and from the observations we have seen from past tournaments juniors and parents MUST sign up for a tournament and stick to your tee off times, if you are late you WILL BE penalized or not allowed to play, we need to put across a strong emphasis on discipline. The full guidelines on rules can be seen on our website.

community We are in the process of asking the R&A for some golf kits for the golf clubs, so clubs please put your requests in writing to the JGF.

PARENTS CORNER Provide as much opportunity for your child to play as often as possible and always offer as much encouragement and praise as possible. Help them adhere to the rules of golf, for example, getting them to their tee off times on time! We would also like parents to volunteer in running some of the junior tournaments so if interested please put your names forward.

results Limuru’s John Kariuki won the U18 category with three birdies, playing 57 nett! Well done!

any ideas As always we are looking for ways to improve junior golf so if you have any thoughts or suggestions please get in touch with us.

NAMIBIA In April this year, a junior team was selected to travel to Namibia and represent the country in the All Africa Junior Golf Challenge. The team consisted of: Jay Patel (captain), Daniel Nduva, Mohit Mediratta and Abraham Galgalo. Kenya was 4th overall and won the Nett prize on 918 points. Abraham played extremely well and both him and Daniel were chosen to represent The Africa Confederation team in Johannesburg in a match vs. South Africa vs. Canada and England in January next year, well done to them.
