I find interest in intelligent establishment of certain building concepts - for example combining programmes and activities, so that a building can host visitors for 24h cycle and also produces energy for self-maintanance. When creating final representational products, I prefer to combine accurate architectural plans with somewhat artistic approaches, such as watercolor, ink and photomontage to emphasize textures and athmosphere.

A collaboration with interior designer Victoria Jacquemoud in two projects of renovation (1st office-space and 2nd residential), located in the city of Geneva. My tasks included: creating ground plans and 3D models for the client and also creating and importing the furniture wihin the space. I also gave advice uppon certain colours, textures and furniture combinations. •MONSTERA: INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT / SLOVENIA/ LJUBLJANA / 2015-2016 A collaboration on a complete architectural renovation of a former student restaurant that now became one of the culinariy hot-spots in Slovenia’s capital city.

I intercede natural building materials, such as clay, wood, hempcrete, stone and other technologically sustainable materials, still I am willing to make an effort to gain balance within projects.

I was responsable for the drawing of accurate plans, sections and views, for creating the space-concept (in collaboration), for designing and drawing the authorial furniture within the space, I was partially responsable for coordination and communication with certain executors (ceiling, furniture).

I come from a land of green and hold great respect towards that note.

The project has been awarded and was well mentioned amongst publishers of interior design and architectural magazins and media.

THE PROJECT

So one day I would be chatting with my sweet and dear friend, who is an amazing photographer, based in Geneva, and she would ask me, if I could make a 3D for her client. A few days later I would receive some photographs of an empty space, located in central district of Geneva, Switzerland. Just like that we would start an inspirational cooperation with me, drawing and importing furniture, based on the designer’s propositions and great ideas. Some of the pieces are authorical. All of them have great aesthetical value and seem very cosy, with a touch of warmth and special office appeall. Together, we have created an artsy work-environement, allowing the workers to be in touch with natural light, colours, materials and textures.

Location of the planned building is perpendicular to the noisy Aškerčeva road and the quiet Street of Rimska in Ljubljana, capital of Slovenia. Behind the well-known curved corners of the old Pharmacy house, there’s an elongated green gap, begging for an interpolation and re-programming. Nevertheless some of the citizens behave as though this wasn’t a central degradated location of an Europe’s metropola and so they have formed lovely gardens inside the small deserted valley, attracting all sorts of bees, birds and butterflies. The current use of space has been a guidance for the planning of the all new vivacious multi-purpose cultural center, with the greenery of stalls becomming it’s principal character. The mighty trees, to which we owe respect for assuring high quality of life, protect visitors from the roadnoise, they also provide shade and help create magical reflections, so that the fasade itself seems like a scenographic scenery.

The references of the project consist of various charismatic architectural projects, scattered around the primal sketch of the project. All of them have innovative artsy approach.

the castle greengage

The fact is that I wanted to keep the existing trees, nevertheless that goal should not affect the concept of the architectural quality, regardless the greenery. One should allways maintain as deep respect towards architecture as well.

In this case, I was able to gain some privacy to enable the public building to also have a reserved, quiet facility for potential artists in residence.

ANALYSIS ANALYSIS

AREA FREQUENCY ANALYSIS

It is evident, from the frequency analysis, that there isn’t much going on on and about the chosen location (the red dot). Nevertheless there is quite a few institutional and public places that are popular amongst city dwellers. From that pont of view the renovation of the selected carré would bring a memorable connection.

When photographing the location, I was aware of the existing the Genius Loci.

AREA BUILDING-HIGHT ANALYSIS

There are buildings of various heights, sorrounding the location. That fact makes the conceptual process quite difficult, since one has to be aware of the sun and the shade. I thoughtfully assumed this was calling for the terase - denivelation of the new planned building.

AREA AREA TRAFFIC TRAFFIC FREQUENCY FREQUENCYANALYSIS ANALYSIS

10/33

So I have created an intent to keep as much trees as possible, but my intention should not affect the “quality” of the building’s formalism. So the challenge was, to somehow put the trees away in my mind and create a conceptual architectural story of this building, regardless all existing. When adding the trees back into the picture, it became magical. The two crossed volumes allow a passage between the two streets and at the same time offer a very rich cultural program, some parts are private, some are semi-private and others are all in all public.

location

The traffic is elongated on all sides of the location, with the dominating Aškerčeva road (the black line). Since the road-noise can be quite intense on the south-side of the location, it is therefore to the outmost importance to keep the existing birches allong the main traffic road.

MASTER THESIS ... SOLAR SCHOOL OF RAINDROPS ABOUT THE PROJECT

SPACE SKETCH

Primary school. Actual start to bring a rational way to our lives. As an element of demanding formalistic practice, I chose an ellipse. At the same time the ellipse offers me a lot of freedom – I refer to the motion of the planets in our solar system. Due to the unimaginable gravitational forces, the orbits of the planets often move in an elliptical shape. The inspiration for the concept of the object, I took from the basic geometric schemes of our solar system, because it seems reasonable to include a universal geometric concept as the solar system universe in the basic floor plan of the facility, which is dedicated to education of children. Road towards Brdo district connects the city area Vič with city area Brdo in Ljubljana. Districts is a kind of crossroads between Technology Park and large industrial facility on the one hand, and the green and peaceful surroundings along the path of Remembrance and Comradeship on the other side.

MASTER THESIS / DIPLOMA 2012 - 2016

The area is undergoing urban regeneration of the whole village, near the selected location along the route of the Red Cross establishes Zeleni gaj neighborhood.

14/33

Primary school intentionally has a relatively large construction surface, because the potential of the facility exceeds the implementation program for elementary school teachings and allows the use of certain (central) places to the general public, then the implementation of cultural and artistic, recreational and other social activities, and in terms of the cultural center it may be reimbursed to somewhat higher initial implementation of financial investment.

PROJECT’S GOALS:

Conceptual sketch ; authorial Sketch of Jung’s philosophy: https://www.pinterest.com/

/ general revitalisation of the area / thoughtful land redevelopment / rise of land’s utilitarian qualities / cultural and social bonding / pallation of sorounding educational facilities / stimulation of connection of area’s dwellers with their environment / exponential cultural growth of the city, due to the building’s disposability in the afternoon hours

FORMALISM AND SHAPE ARGUMENTATION: I have always payed special attention to wood and organic shapes and during studies, I’ve realised the healthy benefits of natural, industrially less transformed, materials. So I have found people and organisations that are active in this field and I have set course on dicovering ecological architecture and it’s broad ways. The poetry of shapes, the mystery of formation, uniqueness of conceptional designs and the concreteness of nowadays materials have joined with my sense of responsability to create for people’s and planet’s greater good.

PAVEMENT

The scheme shows the formational concept of the facility, based on geometrical volumes with assigned purposes of each individual space. The utilisation of the front, entrational and administrational area is evidently separated form continuing classroms’ wings and pupils’ back courtyard.

The elliptical space (yellow) represents a dome-roofed central multi-purpose hall, intended for indoor school recreation, also the hall is offering space for various other acctivities, such as gatherings, cultural and musical events, afternoon recreation ...

SCHOOL’S CENTRAL STAIRCASE MAIN CENTRAL AREA TRANSITIVE AREA PAVEMENT DOORS (EXIT/ENTRANCE)

The scheme shows the building’s ground floor with it’s transitive nature. The central area (library and lecture hall) are connected with the upper floor through four fire-safe staircases. There are many doors in the transitive area which assures the functional conectedness of the building.

The scheme shows the concept-design of the central dome-space and side common-space construction coverage. All of the roof construction consists of CLT beams, individually shaped and dimentionned to form the roof-system. Besides the roof-system, the scheme also exhibits fire-escape staircase possitions which allow the school-users to retreat quickly and safely in case of fire. sketches were created with a help of the master, the beloved G.Zupan

ELLIPTICAL GEOMETRY VOLUME FOLDING (left)

CIRCULAR CONCEPT OF ADDITIVE STRINGING OF SPATIAL ELEMENTS

The photographic material exhibit my innitial mood with inventuring the geometry of an ellipse within volumes. The concept is folding shapes and creating levels with elliptical objects, that differ in hights and radius. Later - on, when studying construction, I suddenly decided for a dome-shaped main volume - the central ellipse.

1. Formation and orientation of the central elliptical spherical space which conatins a multipurpose hall, a multimedia classroom, an internal atrium and a library space. 2. Addition of administrative/ management/economic premises along the entrance area. 3. Addition of classrooms for 5rd, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade, internal toilet facilities and common spaces for pupils. 4. Addition of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and 4th grade classrooms, cabbinets, toilet facilities and common spaces for pupils. 5. Addition of technical / science classrooms and laboratory + workshop space.

The terrain is quite contoured and animated in leveling, so these features invited me to create parts of building of different hights, also under the existing terrain.

Also addition of sun-rooms along all of the classrooms spaces on both sides, connectiing them to the terrain. Final part is the internal playground and gardens that connect all spaces and parts of the building.

INNITIAL MODEL PHOTO SEQUENCE A photo sequence, exhibiting the innitial model, showing possibilities of transpassing throughout the building and core positionning. I was also studying natural vertical lightning. The subject of exploring were the horizontal plates and then the colums, connecting and supporting them. The main walking connections were to be ramps, allowing people to have long and fluid space to space or floor to floor walks, realising movement as the outmost importance when it commes to dominating will for studying and living. During the consultation processes, I became more focused on the construction formation, due to absolutely too much colums were placed in the innitial models.

MASTER THESIS / DIPLOMA 2012 - 2016

The scheme exhibits a suttle approach towards placing the object (building) into the terrain.

MONSTERA bistró

THE PROJECT A colleague, who was responsable for client-communication and was later also site-manager, would ask me, if I would be willing to cooperate within the renovation, taking into observance and execution of certain tasks. It was clear from the beggining that we would have to “make the magic work” within quite limited budget. Nevertheless, the project had massive potential and is a strong reference. What makes me proud is the fact that we, all together, the whole team, from us - desining the place, to the executors of furniture and construction workers, managed to create a clean, bright and pleasantly inviting bistro of what has before been a small, dusky yugoslavian restaurant, hosting mainly students.

Monstera bistró

RENOVATION PROJECT 2016

This would be my innitiative project of renovation - entering the reality of architecture.

The furniture inside (not the chairs) is authorical, made by two young men, to whom this order was the first ever to pursue. And that adds to the innocence and warmth that the tables and shelves radiate above all.

26/33

To acheve that is a quite a satisfying moment.

The concept developed during the process of client-meetings and brain-storming. The client is a proffesional cook and has a strong culinary career so we followed his tale about a certain plant that happens to make appearance in his most important life-moments. THE MONSTERA DELICIOSA. So we took the plant into observance and held it’s features as guidelines during design-development. In abstract way, the plant’s beautiful trendy leaf appears in the shape of two light-frames above the main counter, there is an innstallation, dividing the working area from the toilets, composed of similar shapes and when entering the toilets, one may notice the special cement tiles, handmade in Marrakesh, imported form Sweden. All within very limited finantial means.

HOME RENOVATION

32/33

RECONSTRUCTON OF THE GRANDMOTHER’S HOUSE / SLOVENIA / LJUBLJANA / 2014 - ... A complete architectural renovation of a small twofloored house, located by Ljubljanica river. The project is still active and includes a roof-renovation, including addition of two dormers.

Summer-automn 2018 was the begining of internal refreshing, where I re-experienced working with natural building materials in terms of finishes: CLAYTEC finish and white clay NATIVA natural colour. I firstly had to prepare the walls and flooring by removing the old crust, washing the clear surfaces and beginning

with the NATIVA kazein primer layer to fix the dust. Paralelly I am seriously cultivating my naturalistic approach towards interior design's quality of the truth. Because the truth is: everything is everything, pantha - rei, all the mollecules travel through space and through us.

We are litterally breathing-in the materials, we use at renovations of ourselves (body beautifying), of the spaces we are living in, ect... our choices affect the existance's twirls inside and out. The more we accept this truth, the greater is our power of choice. Truths are to be faced, otherwise it resembles running away on whatever level.

Death is about trust into life. I would like to say a praise to my soul family and friends who inspire me daily and have helped me to develop with ability to empathise towards all. Growing is a necessity. Understanding is key.
