WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Having international experiences in different locations in Milan, Dubai and Amman, enabled me to be well exposed to different working environments and gave me the advantage to work on various design projects which has greatly influenced my design aesthetic. I have immersed myself in every aspect of the creative process from mastering design principles and textile selection to understanding the nuances of garment production.

As a creative designer I enjoy experimenting with different styles and materials, as well as exploring different cultures. I believe that fashion is a form of self-expression and can reflect one’s personality and values, I strive to create unique and meaningful pieces that communcate a message to the world and empower people to express their individuality.

SEMIOTICS

Ombre is a French word for a color with shaded tone or varying tones from the lightest till darkest. I connected the term ombre with the skin tone variation.

The brand is about cosmetics based on luxuray high makeup products in a broad range of shades. we want to give the apportunity to all women who is still searching for the perfect shade for their skin.

We decided to work only on nude colors than any strong bright colors, as many women prefer to have a natural simple look. I chose two shades of mid skin tone to be equally middled in between all skin colors.

The logo is made of elegant and luxury touch with clear big letters and simple straight lines that can be easily recognized, readable and remembered by everyone.

I chose to stick with a wordmark specifically to present my brand. Sometimes having a name is more useful than choosing an icon that could distract from the brand or confuse the audiences.

My aim is to give a unique identity that defines the brand personality. And represents a clear opportunity to stand out from the crowd and to facilitate the marketing process.

HOMOCYBORG TRANFORMATION

It’s year 2589. Human race is suffering. Drought, hunger, storms, fires, pollution...

An action should be taken. To protect humanity, to be able to breathe again, and avoid more casuaties, we transform ourselves into robots; we call ourselves “Homo Cyborg”.

The transformation is not easy, it’s very painful. After couple decades, we are fully transformed, the new era begins. We rebuilt,we evolve.

This collection can be considered as an overview of the future. Since we are not taking good care of our planet, the possibility of a doomed future is unfortunately inevitable. The main idea behind it is sustai ability. Throughout the collection the materials and colors will differ based on the atmosphere of the years. During stormy, disastrous years, dark colors can be observed and after the transformation, the materials become more futuristic and metallic.

THESIS - ART WITH A PURPOSE

BEAUTY AND ART UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF MUSHROOM

When Henry Thoreau says that the world is a canvas for our imagination, he means that we may bring our aspirations into the actual world - make them palpable so that others can see, hear, or touch them. Imagination gives us the power to create visual picture. The idea behind my concept is to connecting the world of fashion with the world of wonder “the mushroom kingdom”. This kingdom is not like any of other kingdoms, it is one of a kind.

I drew inspiration for my Spring/Summer 2021/2022 collection from this oldest and fascinating species in the world. It will be introduced with a special way of looking at the world, providing a vivid insight into my garments, it is a mixture of romantic elegant but, contemporary style.

Why Fungi?

This collection focuses on the beauty of the natural world. It is such a wide sea, with so many elements and organisms to explore and discuss, but there was one thing that caught my eye, and thought to shed some light on it, it is the world of fungi. When you think about nature’s beauty, what would be the first thought that comes to mind? Isn’t it supposed to be green? Nature, though, is much more than just greenery. All you experience and see around you, like Woods, Oceans, Animals, Flowers, Creatures, and Water, etc… is a part of nature’s beauty. So why I have chosen Fungi mushrooms?

After understanding the balance between human and nature I have transformed it into an artistic collection made of exaggerated volumes, organic shapes and oversized outfits.

I have created a SPRING/SUMMER 2022

READY-TO-WEAR collection that reflects the wonder and beauty I observe in nature. Throughout the procces of my research of this project, I was drawn to a combination of Romantic and exquisite modernism styles.

Color palette: I used pastel colors contrasted with bright colors to give it a twist.

Fabrics: soft fabrics are most common in my collection, it consists of Organza, Chiffon,Tulle and Crepe combined with other fabrics such as Leatherand Cadi.

Shape and texture: I wanted to show my designs in a way where it reflects the idea of the natural materials,  emotional waves in fluid designs, volume, and over-sized pieces. For the texture I have used different techniques and different material manipulation such as ruffles, gathered fabrics, pleated fabric, and a lot of layers.

So I tried to capture them in a very romantic artistic, creative way!

PART 1

I made 5 patterns based on the organic shape of the mushroom. Each pattern has different shape and size even gathered differently.

PART 2

Oyster spore print, IT come out with so many organic shapes and lines.

After cutting double layer of each shape as the shape of the pattern, I have sewed the outlines and placed stiffed favric in the middle to harden it.

PART 3

The last step was to reshape them freely by gathering the middle part and pin the folds that have been gathered; hand sew it then place it on the bodice.

I have transformed the exact shape that I have on my sketch into the laser machine; it cut it exactly how I drew it; 2 different shapes, coppied them in 5 pieces, but in different sizes

Veiled panus is a tan, inconspicuous mushroom from the top. A flip to the underside reveals beautiful gills which radiate out from a central point. The young fruiting bodies are covered by a veil of tissue that breaks apart as the mushroom expands, often leaving cottony remnants along the outer edges.

These stunning patterns are created by the fruitbodies of the crimped gill, a saprobic fungus that grows in overlapping clusters on decaying branches and trunks of deciduous trees. The wrinkled underside is pretty distinc tive and will help you differentiate it from other polypores out there.

SKOURTI

PROJECT BRIEF

During my internship with Nafsika Skourt, I was involved in both the technical and design aspects of the NS AW22 & SS23 collection development. My role included participating in fittings and styling sessions, exploring fabric and color combinations, and working closely on the overall creative direction. In addition, I was mainly responsible for coordinating with suppliers and managing sampling direction, ensuring the full process, from concept to execution.

I was also responsible for managing the entire embroidery department, which included bridal embroidery, embroidery for ready-to-wear garments, and embroidery design development. This role allowed me to handle both the creative and technical aspects — from designing embroidery layouts to overseeing production for private clients and couture bridal pieces.

As part of this experience, I worked on a dedicated bridal project, including three distinct wedding dresses. Each gown reflected a different set of couture techniques — embroidery, draping, handmade flowers, and trims.

INTRUODUCTION

During my internship, I was actively involved in both the creative and technical aspects of the design process. My role extended from developing initial sketches and collection concepts to executing detailed technical drawings and flats. I worked on both digital and manual pattern making, as well as draping, to explore form and construction. In addition, I created embroidery designs in both manual and digital formats, and experimented with digital grading. This project reflects the full scope of my contributions, combining creativity with technical precision.

My 2+ experience at BLSSD showcases a curated selection of my design work — highlighting the process behind each project from concept development to final execution. It reflects my approach to fashion as a form of storytelling, where every collection begins with an idea, emotion, or observation that evolves into fabric, form, and detail. Through research, experimentation, and collaboration, each piece aims to merge creativity with purpose — balancing technical precision and emotional expression to create designs that are both thoughtful and wearable.
