Reinventing the Wheel

1405 Walnut Street, Over the Rhine Historic District I designed this Live / Work space because of the flourishing cyclist culture in Cincinnati. With considerations twords historic preservation, this old site became a bicycle shop that the owner of could live in. I used various parts of bicycles to design furniture throughout the space. It also has a “naked loft. The wetroom off of the master bedroom is very open. It features an elegant tub and an exposed rain shower with plent of view to the outdoors.

Moeller Case Study

Main Lobby and Spirit Shop Remodel My focus was on the main lobby of the highschool. This decision came from talking with students about their least favorite aspects of the school. There was a huge pile up in the lobby everyday. Some kids pushed and shoved to catch their busses while others stood in groups waiting for parents to pick them up. My solution, which added trophy space to one of the leading highschools in the state for atheletics, also created seating for kids waiting and a path for students who need to get where they are going. On top of that the design adds a ticket counter for sports games accessable through the spirit shop. This layout promotes both the sales of merch and tickets.

My work for RCF includes 3D rendering, graphic design, advanced office systems furniture planning and specification. I worked as a part of the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital design team for my first term. When I returned I was working with the new bid team at their main office. My overall favorite project was the LCNB bid opportunity. I enjoyed designing the presentation board and chair tags with consideration to RCF’s branding (pictured to the left).

Architecture Firm This experience is where I gained my attention to detail. I was mainly tasked with designing financial institutions. Working in construction documents and specifying details like tile and custom casework gave me a new appreciaton for what we do and also made it apparent that my interests are less technical and more creative. I did get to work a little with the exterior of buildings which was something totally new for me in a professional setting. (pictured below and to the left)
