Trump Holds First PressConference Since Being Elected President

Denounces story that was reported by CNN

The news conference opened with his spokesman, Sean Spicer, slamming a “political witch hunt” following reports published that Russian operatives claim to have compromising personal and financial information about Trump. Trump angrily denounced the publishing and attacked U.S. intelligence agencies over the leak of the information. “I think it was disgraceful, disgraceful that the intelligence agencies allowed any information that turned out to be so false and fake out there,” Trump told a news conference. He called the dossier that makes salacious claims about him “fake news” and “phony stuff.” Says Mexico will ‘Reimburse’ U.S. for the wall

More Dishonest Media

Russia just said the unverified report paid for by political opponents is "A COMPLETE AND TOTAL FABRICATION, UTTER NONSENSE." Very unfair! Russia has never tried to use leverage over me. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH RUSSIA - NO DEALS, NO LOANS, NO NOTHING! I win an election easily, a great "movement" is verified, and crooked opponents try to belittle our victory with FAKE NEWS. A sorry state! Intelligence agencies should never have allowed this fake news to "leak" into the public. One last shot at me.Are we living in Nazi Germany?

“I could wait about a year and a half until we finish our negotiations with Mexico which will start immediately after we get into office, but I don’t want to wait,” Trump said at a news conference. He said his vice president-elect Mike Pence is “leading an effort to get final approvals through various agencies and through Congress for the wall to begin.” “Mexico in some form ... will reimburse us,” Trump added. Trump refused to take questions from a CNN reporter during the press conference

Obama Says Goodbye In Emotional Speech

CNN reporter Jim Acosta pushed back demanding an opportunity to ask a question.

Chicago - Conceding disappointments during his presidency yet offering vigorous encouragement for the nation’s future, Barack Obama issued an emotional defense Tuesday night of his vision to Americans facing a moment of anxiety and a dramatic change in leadership.

“I am not going to give you a question, you are fake news,” Trump said.

Trump told Acosta, “Your organization is terrible, I’m not going to give you a question.” Acosta responded, “Mr. President-elect, that’s not appropriate.” Says Pharmaceutical Companies 'Getting Away With Murder’ Trump has blasted other industries for charging the government too much, particularly defense companies Lockheed Martin Corp and Boeing Co, but has made only a few public statements about drug pricing since being elected. After his promise during a news conference, the ARCA pharmaceutical index fell 2 percent as Pfizer Inc gave up 2.6 percent and Johnson & Johnson fell 1 percent. Biotech Gilead Sciences Inc fell 2.3 percent. The drug industry has been on edge for two years about the potential for more government pressure on pricing after sharp increases in the costs of some life-saving drugs drew scrutiny in the press and among lawmakers.

Obama’s valedictory speech in his hometown of Chicago was a public meditation on the trials and triumphs, promises kept and promises broken that made up his eight years in the White House. Arguing his faith in America had been confirmed, Obama said he ends his tenure inspired by America’s “boundless capacity” for reinvention, and he declared: “The future should be ours.” His delivery was forceful for most of his speech, but by the end he was wiping away tears as the crowd embraced him one last time. Reflecting on the corrosive recent political campaign, he said, “That potential will be realized only if our democracy works. Only if our politics reflects the decency of our people. Only if all of us, regardless of our party affiliation or particular interest, help restore the sense of common purpose that we so badly need right now.” He made no mention of Republican Donald Trump, who will replace him in just 10 days. But when he noted the imminence of that change and the crowd began booing, he responded, “No, no, no, no, no.” One of the nation’s

Yiddish Speaking Men Target Chasidic Children In Attempted Lurings

Brooklyn, NY - The NYPD is investigating two incidents of attempting luring that took place Tuesday night in Williamsburg as a pair of men in a minivan tried to entice two young children to get into their car. Police said that the first incident took place at 6:15 PM at the intersection of Hewes Street and Williamsburg Street East when two men in an older model light blue Dodge Caravan offered a 12 year old boy a lollipop. “The approached the victim and said, ‘boy, come here, lollipop,’ in Yiddish,” said police. The boy ran away from the scene and saw the same men talking to a young girl a few blocks away at another intersection. Police said that the 10 year old girl continued walking and then men drove away. Upon his return home, the boy told his mother what happened and she called police.

New York City Traffic Deaths Dropped To Record Low In 2016 New York - Traffic deaths in New York City have declined for the third straight year, dropping to a record low of 229 in 2016. Mayor Bill de Blasio said Wednesday that the downward trend in traffic deaths shows his Vision Zero trafficsafety campaign is working. The 229 traffic fatalities were pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists and people in cars. The number fell from 234 in 2015. City officials say 229 is the lowest number of traffic deaths since recordkeeping began in 1910. Pedestrian deaths increased slightly to 144, up from 139 in 2015. The first few days of 2017 have already seen several traffic deaths.

The two men are described as white, clean shaven and last seen wearing flat topped, brimmed caps.

One Pot Chicken & Rice

• CC’S SHABBOS CUISINE

By: Raizy Fried

Some recipe developers are afraid that if their recipes are too simple, people will think they’re not original or unique, but the complicated ones, often scare people off. For me, if everyone is tearing it out to make that night for supper, I’ve achieved my goal. This recipe takes less than an hour (prep time and cook time included), and results in a wholesome balanced meal. Lots of happy and satisfied campers guaranteed! Try this one, and let me know how it goes,

Raizy

INGREDIENTS:

DIRECTIONS:

1 Yellow Onion, diced 1 Red Bell Pepper, diced 1 large Beef Tomato, diced 4 Cloves of Garlic, crushed 1 Tbsp. of Paprika 1 tsp. of Onion Powder 1 Tbsp. salt 2 lbs. of Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs, cut into bite size pieces 2 cups of White Jasmine (or Long Grain) Rice 3 cups of Chicken Stock or 3 cups Water with 3 tsp. consommé 1 15oz Can Tomato Sauce 1 cup of Frozen Peas, thawed 3 Tbsp. of Vegetable Oil Salt and Pepper, to taste

1. In a large skillet with high sides, preheated over medium high heat, add the oil and let it get nice and hot. In the meantime, toss the chicken with some salt, pepper, add it to the hot pan and cook it until color develops on all sides. 2. Add the onion, peppers, tomatoes and garlic, season lightly with a touch of salt and pepper and cook them for about 5 to 7 minutes. Till they soften and develop a touch of color. Add the rice and cook it stirring around and toasting it up a bit for about a minute or two. Add the paprika, salt and onion powder, stir it all together and allow everything to cook for about a minute. 3. Add the broth (or water and consommé), tomato sauce and bring to a boil. Turn the heat down to low, cover and cook for about 25 minutes or so - until the rice is fully cooked. 4. Adjust the seasoning to taste, add the peas and fluff everything together with a fork allowing everything to cook together for a few minutes.

TODAY IN WORLD HISTORY 2010 - Massive earthquake strikes Haiti On this day in 2010, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake devastates the Caribbean island nation of Haiti. The quake, which was the strongest to strike the region in more than 200 years, left over 200,000 people dead and some 895,000 Haitians homeless..

Interesting Facts About Earthquakes - Natural events such as volcanic eruptions and meteor impacts can cause earthquakes, but the majority of naturally-occurring earthquakes are triggered by movement of the earth's plates.

- The earth's surface consists of 20 constantly moving plates. The pressure increase from shifting plates can cause the crust to break. This break allows stress to be released as energy, which moves through the earth in the form of waves (aka earthquakes). - Normally, it's not the shaking ground itself that claims lives during an earthquake. It's the associated destruction of man-made structures and the instigation of other natural disasters such as tsunamis, avalanches and landslides. - The National Earthquake Information Center (NEIC) records an average of 20,000 earthquakes every year (about 50 a day) around the world. There are, however, millions of earthquakes estimated to occur every year that are too weak to be recorded. - Each year the southern California area has about 10,000 earthquakes -- the majority of which go unnoticed. However, if there is a large earthquake the aftershock sequence will produce many more earthquakes of all magnitudes for months. - Almost 80% of all the planet's earthquakes occur along the rim of the Pacific Ocean, called the "Ring of Fire"; a region that encircles the Pacific Ocean and is home to 452 volcanoes (over 75% of the world's active and dormant volcanoes). - The largest recorded earthquake in the United States was a magnitude 9.2 that struck Prince William Sound, Alaska on March 28, 1964. - The largest recorded earthquake in the world was a magnitude 9.5 in Chile on May 22, 1960 When the Chilean earthquake occurred in 1960, seismographs recorded seismic waves that traveled around the world. These seismic waves shook the entire earth for many days. - An undersea earthquake in the Indian Ocean triggered a series of devastating tsunamis on Dec. 26, 2004. The tsunamis struck the coasts of most landmasses bordering the Indian Ocean, bringing 100-foot waves and killing over 225,000 people in 11 countries.

CC’S INSPIRATION CORNER TASTE AND SEE Hello everybody and welcome to Inspiration Daily. I heard a beautiful story recently. R' Yakov Edelstein from Bnei Brak had an operation on his throat and had to rest it for a long while. Afterwards he had to learn how to use his vocal cords again. The doctor told him, "We'll begin using your vocal words with practicing two words. Which two words do you choose to use?" Now think about that for a moment. We talk all day long. We don't think twice before we use our power of speech. But here was an individual who was limited, and was now given the choice to use two words. He wrote down on a piece of paper those two words; amen and todah. What beautiful words they are. We have an opportunity to say those words so many times. R' Edelstein wanted to use those words because they were so important to him. To say amen and express his belief in Hashem. And to say todah, to thank the many people who have done so much for him. Two words that encapsulate everything we say. Every important and meaningful word we say during the day is captured in those two words. I recently heard a beautiful gematria of "Ta'amu u'reoo ki tov Hashem", which is 411, the gematria of Teves. How could that be? Teves is the month that Nevuchadnetzar laid siege. Nevertheless, when it appears we are under attack, "Ta'amu u'reoo kid tov Hashem", taste and you will see Hashem is good even when it might appear to be otherwise. I have been asked to convey here, there is a young man, Efraim Zalman ben Adina Shaindel who is in need of rachmei shamayim. In the zechus of saying tehillim for him, hopefully he will have a refuah sheleima and we'll all be able to see the goodness of Hashem even in the most difficult times of our lives.
