Project description The task of the competition was to get away from the prevailing clichĂŠs, to connect local traditions, especially geography, and new technologies, to find simple answers for complex questions. How should a modern and energy-efficient house look like? In an attempt to answer this question, I developed this project. The total area of the house is 160 sqm and it has a simple and expressive shape to minimize the area of envelope and to achieve optimum energy density ratio (1.82). Southern slope of the roof has integrated photovoltaic panels and thermal collector, fairly steep angle of the roof maximizes the amount of solar energy gain under conditions of low winter sun. The main source for heating in the winter is a geothermal heat pump. In the summertime overheating problem is solved by the system of shutters and night ventilation of rooms. For this project was made the analysis of the energy efficiency in program Graphisoft Ecodesigner. The project has passed 1 round and entered the top 20 finalists. Principal sections
