AsRacialJusticeMonthcomestoaclose,Iwanttotakeamomenttoreflectonthe incredibleworkandcollectivecommitmentwehavewitnessedthroughoutApril.AtYWCA PrincetonourSteps4Equityprogramminghasbeenapowerfulreflectionofwhat’spossible whenacommunitycomestogether-speakingout,showingup,andstandingfirminthe

beliefthatjusticecannotwait.

FromthedailyRacialJusticeChallengetoourStandAgainstRacismculminatingeventand theinspiringvoicesofthestudentsinour“JusticeJustIs”highschoolcompetition,this monthhaslifteduptheconversationsweneedtohave-notjustinApril,buteveryday.Our youngpeople,inparticular,remindusthatthefutureofthiscountryisnotconfinedtothe hallsofpower,butlivesinthecourage,passion,andclarityofthosewillingtodemand somethingbetter.Thismonthhastrulybeenatestamenttowhatispossiblewhenwecome togethertochallengeinjusticeandpushtheconversationforward. EvenasIwritetoyoufromScottsdale,Arizona,whereIhavebeenattendingtheYWCAUSA NationalLeadershipConferencealongsidemyfellowYWCAleadersfromacrossthecountry, theenergyofourlocalworkhasremainedfrontandcenterinmyheart.Together,asa nationalmovementandasalocalforceforchange,wearegrapplingwithhowtoleadboldly andeffectivelyinthistimeofuncertaintyanddivision.Ourmissiontoeliminateracismand empowerwomen,andpromotepeace,justice,freedom,anddignityforall–hasneverbeen moreurgent.
