IMPACT OF COVID-19 | WOMEN OF ACHIEVEMENT GOES VIRTUAL Throughout 2020, YWCA has kept its doors open, not only working on the frontlines to provide child care for essential working families, but to gather resources and funding to deliver meals and groceries to families in the Grandparent Support Network, and assist women and mothers who have faced job cut-backs, low wages, or loss of housing in the New Choices Economic Empowerment and Early Parenthood Programs.

As the pandemic continues, we anticipate new challenges will arise as the situation has heightened existing inequalities in our community. YWCA's mission and work has always focused on making sure that adequate resources and supports remain available, especially to our most vulnerable community members.

We cannot do this work alone. YWCA has felt the impact of the policies and regulations stemming from the pandemic.

Testimonials "We have supported this worthy organization for over 30 years because we are convinced that collaboration with the YWCA supports our youth at a level we alone could never achieve."

adrienne moore CEO, James E. Moore Insurance Agency, Inc. Presenting Sponsor since 1986

"The YWCA Women of Achievement Awards is one of the most exciting and memorable events of every year! This fun evening recognizes the achievements of outstanding women in all different walks of life. I have been devoted for many decades to the mission of the YWCA, as they lead our community towards the goals of the elimination of racism and the empowerment of women. I was totally surprised and honored to receive their lifetime achievement award and to join this amazing group of women leaders!."

Louise coggins 2019 Women of Achievement Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient

"The Woman of Achievement Young Leader Scholarship award has not only helped me fund my college education but also connected me with so many other phenomenal women in the community. The scholarship served as a connection point to the YWCA as a broader organization that has supported and amplified my voice as a black woman during this challenging year. As a result, I have been able to speak out as an activist and advocate for communities of color with the YWCA and have felt supported every step of the way as a scholarship recipient."
