New Website - On the 15th of June we launched a beautiful, new website! Check it out: www.ywamrestenas. se The new site will provide better updated information for those who want to know what’s happening here and in the places we send our people.z Missionsresor - This week, 65 young people, mostly Swedish, will be bringing God’s love to distant lands: India, Turkey, Cambodia and Ukraine. The leaders are comprised of our staff and former students. They’ll return to Sweden on the 9th of July.

Renewal Gathering – On 3 July, Restenäs will be hosting its annual Renewal gathering, a time of refreshment for anyone who has been involved with YWAM in the past. Autumn DTS 2005 - Our DTS is already receiving more inquiries than they know what to do with! Fifteen students are already accepted. Maria Svensson is our new DTS leader this year. You’ll hear more about Maria in a future update. All of these things are part of the bigger picture here at Restenäs: To train, equip and send missionaries from here into Sweden, and beyond... May God bless you. The Staff at Restenäs

About six months ago a Restenäs staff member discovered an old, dilapidated signpost buried in one of our flowerbeds. The signs on it had deteriorated and were twisted in several directions, making this relic appear useless, destined for the rubbish heap, where it would receive a proper burial. It’s a mystery how a two-metre-long piece of iron, with signs clinging to it, could find it’s way to the bottom of a flowerbed without anyone noticing.

Some History

Hidden Treasure

In the recent past, Restenäs has sometimes been perceived in the same light as this old signpost - a tool which has lost its purpose, with few people believing in its potential. Its glory days having been long spent, it struggles for a few more breaths, just waiting for someone to give it a proper burial. And at times, it seems the easiest thing to do would have been to give up on Restenäs and cast it onto the rubbish heap and start over. But, the purpose for Restenäs still remains, whose heritage lies deeply rooted in Christian values and calling. In the “beginning” Restenäs was a farm owned

by Christians. Later, the farm was turned into an orphanage. Then, in 1935 it became a Christian school for young people. In later years, over 5000 young confirmation students would flood the campus every summer! Since 1980, Youth With A Mission, Restenäs has been training young people for missions and sending them as missionaries to some of the hardest places on earth. Recently, we have experienced a new flood of young people pouring into our campus, most of them Swedish. These “History Makers” have a strong desire to live for God and to change the world. They will be some of the most effective people on the planet, influencing every area of society with the Love of God and the tenacity to obey Him at any cost. With people like this coming to train in our schools, it’s difficult to imagine that our purpose has died. On the contrary, we are re-discovering our purpose, seeing God revive it, for His glory.

A Sign Pointing To The Future So, what became of that dilapidated sign post? Very recently, it was restored and placed back above ground to serve its original purpose, giving direction to those entering our campus gates - Aula to the left, Reception to the right. But it also stands as a reminder that God is not yet finished with Restenäs, that we are in a time of new beginnings. It serves as a symbol of how God can take something seemingly destined for the rubbish heap and resurrect it to become a tool for His purposes.

Prayer Continue to pray for our Korean DTS that are on outreach until August. One team is in Finland, one in Lithuania and one in the north of Sweden and Norway. Pray for the Mission Trips getting training at Restenäs and then going to Ukraine, Cambodia, Turkey, and India for a total of three weeks. There are 65 staff and students attending.

Praise Our visiting Mission Builders International team left our campus with the students’ girls’ shower room renovated, a big balcony rebuilt, the first steps taken towards new class rooms and offices and a lot of other things done. Thank God for the hard work they invested while they were here these past six weeks. Thank you, Mission Builders, for coming and blessing us! How wonderful that 65 young people, mostly Swedes, are going out to different nations to tell about the good news of Jesus. We hope many of them will end up going as missionaries long-term.
