TOMAS ‘KESSON’ NOSEK - STREET SKATER When you get caught by skateboarding, it grabs you and doesn’t let go. In my life I haven’t felt anything as beautiful as skateboarding. The feeling when you ride through the city and people are just turning around and looking confused is priceless. It gave me a different view on everything around me, it has changed me in many different ways. The music I listen to, the clothes I wear and the way I think. The essential part that gives you the great feeling while
skateboarding are friends, I couldn’t ride alone. Skateboarding is all about your approach to it, which reflects the character of the person, you’re not good if you don’t practice, but never forget to enjoy it. Another reason why I kept skateboarding for so long is probably because I played hockey for a long time. Even though I enjoyed it, you had to strictly follow the rules and listen to the coach or referee, and you had the feeling that you are forced to do
everything or sometimes too restricted. This on the other side taught me that if you do not try properly, you wont succeed. This is how skateboarding got to me, it’s a way of self-realization that I probably could not find elsewhere. I do not ride with any big ambitions, I just ride as long as you can and as long as I will be healthy and have time for it. I want to spend time with people that I like and enjoy it.
