WAVES spatial frequencies Apichai Tragoolpadetgrai is a lead singer of the band called greasy cafe, also a story teller and a writer. UTTAYAN CONTEMPORARY LANDSCAPE GALLERY NATIONAL PARK
A national park is a park in use for conservation purposes. Often it is a reserve of natural, semi-natural, or developed land. The special qualities of national parks include there: uniqueness landscape and views, geology and geography. Mu Koh Thale Tai (or South Sea Islands) includes 5 major islands Koh Tan, Koh Rap, Koh Wang Nok , Koh Wang Nai and Mudsum .These areas belong to Khanom District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. 10 years ago, there was an initiative project that aimed to support research and training in marine biodiversity for young biologists and local communities as well as gather basic information on marine life called Khanom Marine Biodiversity Initiative Project. this study has shown that “Khamon – Mu Koh Thale Tai” is rich in marine biodiversity and supportsa variety of colorful fauna. A total of 719 species of marine life have been detected. These include rare and/or endangered species for Thailand. For example, pink dolphins, nudibranch, echinoderm, plankton, seagrass, variety of crabs, marine’s fungi
UTTHAYAN Contemporary landscape gallery There was an initiative project that aimed to support research and training in marine biodiversity for young biologists and local communities as well as gather basic information on marine life called Khanom Marine Biodiversity Initiative Project. This study has shown that “Khamon – Mu Koh Thale Tai” is rich in marine biodiversity and supportsa variety of colorful fauna. A total of 719 species of marine life have been detected. These include rare and/or endangered species for Thailand. For example, pink dolphins, nudibranch, echinoderm, plankton, seagrass, variety of crabs, marine’s fungi. There was a sea buoy project set up for the local community at Khanom with the aim for marking the marine and coastal conservation zones, especially for the Pink Dolphin conservation.
UTTHAYAN Contemporary landscape gallery This project first started at Raja Kiri Resort and Spa, Nakornsrithammarat Province. The project installed 30 buoys along the coastline of 12 kilometers long starting from Koh Phi, the border between Suratthani and Nakornsrithammarat Provinces, to Ao Node. This area is the large habitat for the Pink Dolphins. the buoys could help marking the prevention zones from the dropped and dragged anchors by the fishing boats and ships. The trawled boats and ships create great damage to corals, seagrass beds and especially the Dolphin habitats. Thus, the installed buoys would help prevention the loss of marine bioresources at Khanom coastline.
UTTHAYAN Contemporary landscape gallery gabion walls a gabion is a cage, cylinder box filled with rocks, concrete, sometimes sand or soil for use in engineering, wall retaining, erosion protection, application for landscape.the retaining walls do not require ant particular foundation or footings and are built on graded soil once all debris and plant materials have been removed. in landscaping gabion walls can support an earth wall, stabilize the soil, prevent erosion plus stabilize shoreline, riverbanks, slope againts erosion.
UTTHAYAN Contemporary landscape gallery detail plan First starting from gabion port, the gabion port represents as an object as landscape. The gabion port leads you to the land. Which walking along the port you will experience the change of the wall. Inside the gabion wall it composes of rock, and damaged coral reef of the site. Creating a continuity of ecologies along the walls the gabion port display and expose the damaged of coral reef at the site but in other hands the composition of the port offers new ecology for the living. The gabion system become a mechanism, technique of gathering and product of nature.
UTTHAYAN Contemporary landscape gallery gabion residence in axonometric The buildup of soil in surface gaps makes them excellent for landscapes because they can support plant life. Older gabions can host a whole community of native plant volunteers that find the elevated locations ideal alternatives to cliff-face nooks and crannies. Over time a gabion left to colonization can virtually disappear in a natural plant community creating new typology to the site over type which can create sense of lost in direction for the visitors. The sense of loss can be one of the fear which can be transform into excitement and appreciation at last. So, the gabion which consist of Demolition waste in combination with rock and plants are turned into design elements. The gabion wall or faรงade conjoin together as natural faรงade creating one kind of appreciation in the site.

UTTHAYAN Contemporary landscape gallery Walking into indoor space you will see all the contemporary art that display in the panels by the artist. The main gallery building work as an object in landscape. The indoor space contrast with the surrounding condition giving the visitor a disjointed connection with the nature. many natural structures throughout the space express as a symbolic idea that humans can return to their primitive form while still being modern.Gabions are used in many situations including the stabilization of earth movement and erosion, river control, stabilize the soil, plus to stabilize shorelines landscaping and retaining walls. This once purely functional landscape feature has taken a creative turn with a variety of new uses in the landscaping. They can be manufactured in welded mesh or woven wire. Welded mesh gabions are faster to erect and do not need tensioning. This allows them to keep their shape, a gabion is a cage, cylinder or box filled with rocks, sometimes sand or soil. The gabion wall /trail represent the object from landscape.
CONTEXT AND USER blending with environment
context in term of architecture can be express in different terms.it can be described as a building or the surrounding and also the environment itself.first the weather is one of the biggest concern in architectural world.consider the change in term of design when weather comes to take a role in architecture.for example tropical architecture consider about ventilation.we can see the basement that been raised in thai house due to the concern of the flood. rectangle forest is a housing project made by jun igarashi which located in hokkaido japan.it is one of the project that cintrast with the meaning of the context. the building itself doesnt blend or fit in with the surrounding because of the need of the user that doesnt want to communicate with the surrounding at all. the project defined the space according to the user satisfaction.they contain 36 column which work as a structure and also boundaries that divided the space itself.the aim was to let the user play with the space freely.the curtain is the only object to blur the space inside the house.
