CHEESE WITH CHARACTER Vilhelmsdals Gårdsmejeri Dairy in Vranarp makes around twenty cheeses with different characters – carefully, and by hand. Choose between white-veined and blue-veined, and try the traditional yoghurt and butter. FIELDS OF HERBS AND SPICES Lavender flowers on vanilla ice cream, a herb mix for your own dipping sauces, or mint sugar in chocolate. At Österlenkryddor in Köpingebro you’ll find tradition, new ideas and a taste of the Mediterranean. THE SMELL OF WOODSMOKE Fresh seasonal fish, smoked or prepared using traditional local recipes. Nya Rökeriet in Simrishamn is one of many smokehouses along the coast. Take the taste of the sea home with you. STRONG AND SWEET Sweet lavender mustard, mustard for sausages, Christmas mustard with cinnamon and cloves or the local version of Dijon mustard? Petersborgs Gård in Smedstorp knows how mustard should taste, and the mustard seeds are grown locally. TURKEY GALORE Ingelsta Kalkon is famous across Sweden for its turkey, and is based near Smedstorp. The delicatessen counter sells every form of turkey imaginable – fresh, prepared, cooked, smoked and grilled. VINES TAKE ROOT The highly commended Österlen wine Domän Sånana is produced at Skillinge Vingård Vineyard and includes Pinot Noir and Ortega grapes. The red and white wines are sold at the Systembolaget off-licence chain, and the vineyard arranges tours and tastings.
