In the limited “Curated by Komono” series, we offer up our wristwear designs as a canvas for surprising, beautiful and highly collectible artist collaborations. By joining forces with new, respected, famous and/or emerging artists, we intend to deepen and extend Komono’s trademark desire to blur boundaries, bridging the gap between accessories and high art. Our first collection, the official “Komono x Basquiat” collabo, channeled the raw energy of an eighties pop icon into a high-end series of affordable accessory items. Our second name on the “Curated by Komono” billing isn’t splattered all over art history books (yet). This time, we’re channeling the bold, deceptively simple 2D street vibes of someone who is very much a ‘living artist’. Andy Rementer is an artist/illustrator/animator/good dude on the cusp of global recognition: a contemporary darling of eyecandy blogs, global brands and sophisticated galleries alike. Andy’s work has been playfully knocking down walls between art, illustration, sculpture and design; turning anything from wrapping paper to one-off canvases into highly desirable objects. About the brand Ruby Tuesday.. when did it start and how has the company evolved within the past few years? It started while we were agents for some cool fashion brands. We really wanted to create our own little story and that’s why we founded Ruby Tuesday, named after the Rolling Stones’ iconic 1976 track. We believe that the clothes should not overshadow the personality of who is wearing them.
